Double standard...why is the word penis used a lot in comedy shows but the word vagina is taboo?

Not true. The "vagina monologues" for one has been around for ages.

never seen it sadly. I'm referring to comedy series (Brooklyn 99 etc)...

I give you double standards. How come when a woman has several sexual partners it is frowned upon but when a man is doing the same it is ok.

It seems that misogyny is as hard to eradicate as the common cold.

Where did you get that from?

??? I hear vag or vagina used almost the same amount as penis. Maybe it was not so ten years ago, but current comedy seems to use both pretty similarly.

Penis is just a funnier word. Why make a joke about Scottsdale when you have Oxnard?

Personally, I think that vagina is a touchy subject.

It isn’t.

I posted a comment just today that used the word, vagina, four times. Four times in one post because I'm a trailblazer. I break taboos. You can't stop me.

Vagina!

See?

Many years ago (too many to remember, so don't ask for details) The Guardian published an article arguing that this is because most men suffer from vagina envy. They didn't actually use the word "vagina", however, and thus became the first British newspaper to print the word "cunt".

I never truly understood that word (though I have used it in the past).

We must not be watching the same comedy shows.
