Not sure on my thoughts about this, but meh, here goes. I came to the rational a bit ago that I am tired of, and done with arguing with, : flat earthers, creationists, moon landing deniers, global deniers, Triggered, toxic, what ever the fuck.
I just don't see the need of introducing the inept with facts any more. especially since no one wishes to think out side their zone, I would rather a healthy discussion.
I have realized that some, will never listen to reason, or facts as presented to them.
So, I think it's most healthy to just not get into "those" debates anymore.
I think rather, I'll post and talk about positive things in my world, well, that and music.
Sorry for the rant, it was just on my mind for a while

I still have periods of time where I will try but increasingly, I just don't bother beyond the occasional sarcastic remark or leading question.

I think most people here are at or past that point. I abandoned rationality and logic as a means to debate anyone I seriously don't agree with. The problem is you can't do it online because it involves asking a lot of awkward questions like "why do you feel like the government can't put a man on the moon?" You can't get an honest answer unless you say that to someone's face.

religious and conspiracy theorists share a mentality that there needs to be something more powerful than themselves to justify their own shortcomings. Triggered and toxic people need all their prersonal problems to be someone or something else's fault. Flat earthers need everyone else to be wrong in order to justify their perception of superiority. Of course, they all need to double down if anyone calls any of them on their bluff.

Anymore the only way I know to talk to these people is to ask leading questions to try and force them to introspect on why they believe what they believe and then attack the source.

Same here. I have vowed to myself, that on my other social media sites, I will not argue, or bring up anything that might be seen as political, or controversial. It is just not worth arguing over, especially with family. Which has left me doing nothing but posting cat memes 🙂

Everybody's gotta vent now and then.
