church people are so indoctrinated that they believe that violating your privacy somehow serves a greater good that convincing you that their way is right is really the correct thing to do.
my coworker told me that her 10 year old daughter was upset her friend said that she doesn't believe in God she won't be going to heaven and therefore they won't be friends in heaven true story

Idiots with moral superiority ( delusional) most are not that bright, stupid as well as bigot

Ugh...sad, but perhaps like many of us, she will grow out of it...

Aren't they all in for ONE bloody huge surprise when they realise at last that they've been taken for a ride all their miserable lives.
Bloody self-righteous Bible-Thumpers, the sheeple churches love to fleece.

They will never know because they will be dead 😆 so they will go happily I assume, never knowing different.

Rick Perry, the previous longest serving there term Governor of Texas said openly before elections that he did not believe that people who did not accept Jesus would go to heaven. He was elected all 3 times.

That belief is real in all religious people. Hindus believe meat eaters do not go to heaven, Muslims think drinking liquor is a sin and unacceptable to God. There are variations of the belief who will not go to heaven and all are God related.

My daughter way back when, was told by a neighbor friend that she ( my daughter) was going to hell because we were Jewish and the devil lived under our house. Had to explain there was no devil and the only things living under our house were bugs.

Cruelty saddens me, I have nothing more to say beyond what I've already said I guess for them The end justifies the means

When I was 12, two of my friends, one a Mormon and the other a JW, got into a fight about which one was going to hell and which one was going to heaven. They recited word for word things that had heard in church. The rest of us, Catholic boys, Baptist, and other Protestant churches were trying not to laugh or get involved since we knew WE were going to heaven (those of our religion) while everyone else was going to hell but we kept quiet as we watched our two friends beat each other up.

I'm not sure any of us will be friends when we are little sparks surrounding the big spark and praising it forever and ever. Stop lying to children.

This is a normal reaction for a child who has been indoctrinated to display. One child has been told that she will be going to heaven because she believes in god, she has also been told that those who don’t believe in god won’t go to heaven, so she has just put two and two together. I can’t see any privacy issue, just plain dogma causing an upset between your coworker’s daughter and her friend. This is the result of filling children’s heads with an expectation of rewards which only they can get by a belief in god. It will make that child feel superior and cause a rift between them, which is sad.

Privacy issue was that of allowing the child in the family maintain their own beliefs without question

@m16566 I’m not sure I really understand correctly what you said ....which child, your friend’s or the other child.

you're right I wasn't clear, I'm sure the kids talked about their beliefs openly where I felt the Privacy issue was centered around did anyone have the right to judge.
if it helps convey the point I can see there was not a privacy issue

It's so sad. When I realized I was an atheist several of my religious friends said similar things to me. But I always feel like what they're really doing is threatening me. They tell me that god wants me to believe in him and follow him of my own free will. But then of course if I don't I have to be condemned to enteral damnation. To me that sounds like, "believe in me or else..."

Not disagreeing about the general shittiness of religion, but what does this have to do with violating privacy? Am I missing something?

the violation of privacy was based on the fact that they even asked or presume to tell, emboldened by their religious Dogma they felt they had the moral Authority to threaten a 10 year old girl with hell

1

It's sad, but it will not be her first and only encounter with religious stupidity.

Welcome to the Real World

@m16566 lol, the real world full of people who believe in fairytales! Haha

My daughter, Samantha, was always looked up to by some acquaintance's much younger daughter. They recently began attending church and the girl became extremely critical of Sam because of her normal behavior in college. Sam thinks its humorous, as do I, but it's troubling also because of the drastic change in attitude. She honestly wants Sam to live by her new religious rules.

Indoctrinating children should be illegal. Period.

I still know Xians that will give out your private phone number and email information.

Although a Southern Baptist, Petunia won't go to church because it's common after the first visit they'll send church members over to our home without telling us they are planning a visit. It's as annoying as the JW showing up in groups on the front porch unannounced.

Her dad, Roy, is also a Southern Baptist. He won't go to church because they keep pressuring him to spend longer at church and be more active in church activities.
