Which one of your teenage years was the best? I would have to go with 15
At 15 I was able to date boys without a car. I had the best friends anyone could have I was a filipino in an Irish town but didn't have too many racial problems
In the summer we spent all day at the pool, in the evening we hung out with the "gang" and played the extremely addicting game called Whist
Winter we would sled or iceskate and bump cars down Bunker Hill street.
What was your favorite teenage year?

I don't know if I have a favorite! All my teen years were so awkward. I was an angry kid and generally don't miss those days. But if I had to pick one, I'd say 19 - that's when I got my first job and finally found some independence and confidence.

I left an abusive home at 15 years old - when I was walking out of the door for the last time sunshine was all the way down the hall making a pathway of golden light I rememeber it so well. free at last of the madness adn cruelty.

None of them.

@Millie Because they all sucked.

Definitely 18. I had moved into my own place and bought my first TransAm.

Thirteen was great. So many of us guys were bubbling with whacky cut up humor. We had each other in stiches in class or out. Speaking of fun, what could be better than a rocket boner in class. Also that was the year I fell in love..........with golf.

I would agree with you. For me many of the best things that are memorable in enjoyable ways happened when I was 15.

  1. It was my last year at home and at school, so the last time I was not fully responsible for everything. Not brilliant, but better than other years.

I broke out in a big way when I was 18.

17 for me.
Money was easily attainable, i had a band i was having a ton of fun with, a couple close circles of friends, and the realities of adulthood/college/bills hadn't set in yet.

I didn't really enjoy being a teenager very much. I am a very emotional person as an adult, and as a teenager emotions were very hard to bear. I felt lonely and kind of an outsider, except for a small cadre of very close friends. (Whom I am still friends with, despite not seeing them very much)

Probably 19, when I moved out and started living my life as I chose.

18: graduated high school and went off to college. Close second was 16, my summer at a performing arts camp. I hated junior high and high school, so anything I did where it didn't involve school was a relief. I was an artsy loner who didn't fit in, and other than those two things, most of those years I'd rather forget.

I would have to agree, my 15th year. I moved away from my narcissist mother, met my first "love" and learned A LOT about life.

18-I left home in High School.

Absolutely! I was miserable and the only escape was video games where I could pretend to yknow, not exist. But that leads to further isolation issues and social awkwardness that tends to make it even worse. So.. yeah that sucked. All of it

16-18 - everything was perfect then... Honor student, handsome, popular with girls... To some degree wish that period back... Before that... 10-13 - abusive teacher, that pretty much destroyed any sense of self esteem I may have had... 14-16... Recovering from the previous period and dealing with bullies at a new school.

My teenaged years were generally horrible. I had a step witch from age 14, she had a gestapo mindset. She bullied my dad, his greatest mistake ever was remarrying 6 months after my mom died. I could not go anyplace besides work, church, and school without her permission, and she wanted to control my paycheck. My dad did put his foot down then. She would not let me get a driver's license. It was like she sucked all the joy out of life. She was just a mean, unhappy woman,. I joined the Army at 18 to get out of her house. My sisters were sent off or rescued to live with other relatives and my brothers were out of the house. Basic Training was better than her house.

@Millie No, she passed on a few years ago. She was married to my dad until he died. She tried to sell us his old reloading supplies, 20+ year old gunpowder when we helped her clean out the house. She may have lived 5 years beyond my dad. My dad was buried next to my mom in our hometown, I don't know where she is buried.

I think this is to hard of a question. All that I can say is that after the fourth teenager came along, it seemed better🙂
