OK I just watched the whole thing. I must confess that the only think that I learned that I did not already know was about the burping rather than t'other. But Oliver is quite funny despite his very British accent. But to really express the urgency I felt was missed.

No one wants to hear urgency, at least not the folks who could actually do anything about it. The brain dead people who have gone down the rabbit hole of fox propaganda porn do not watch the late night pundits. Greta has urgency, trump and his supporters mocked her!!!

Yes, excellent show. Now try to convince people with no intention of making any effort to change anything they do. 🙄

Gotta love John Oliver. He tells the truth in a humorous and entertaining way. 🙂

Love him. His piece after the Bataclan attack was loved by the French because of hi straight talking.

Damn I love this show!

I had seen the Bill Nye segment by itself on Facebook. This gives it some context.

I could watch that scene with the globe on fire many times. It was well done. Wonder who wrote it.

I love John and Bill. You did not oversell the ending.

Ok that was funny.

How long before someone figures out a way to utilize the excess carbon dioxide, and demands they get paid a negative amount for the CO2 they have absorbed, in addition to what they get paid for selling goods created by that CO2? If you want to get filthy rich, that would be the way to do it.

love the show, love Bill, and his meltdown

Quick!!!! stuff your head in the sand deeper..

Working in finance, I am a little suspicious of the carbon credit scheme. Any commodity without intrinsic value is prime for Wall Street exploitation, and will likely end up creating another bubble. And when it collapses, guess who is going to be picking up the tab again?

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye.

It has always sounded like a smoke & mirrors scheme to me.

@bingst That's because it mostly is.

When those who are legally blind, lead you to the edge of the cliff and expect you to volunteer to jump for a better way of life!

That is when you realize you should gotten off the train 1000 miles before!

Interesting state of affairs whereby leadership comes from comedians.
There again, on looking at the leadership, maybe not.

Yeah, comedians are a serious problem. I hate how they’re famously so much less honest than reality tv stars.

Edit: Apologies Andy I think I read your comment as a dig on the comedy’s leadership and not the actual “leadership;” you’re probably making the same point I am. ✌️
