An incredibly moving couple of speeches when Christopher Hitchens received the Richard Dawkins award and the two were together in public for the last time. The wit and intelligence of both men is awesome.

One of many videos of Christopher Hitchens I've enjoyed!

1

It was the eloquence of Hitch that I admired the most,

2

Hitch was a real daring atheist.

I don’t think he was daring....he just had an ability to put into words the rational arguments against a belief in god. His erudition was amazing, I’m full of admiration at how he could counter those who debated with him.

Is it really so many years since his death. A man who used his mind and was admired for his thoughts.
My favourite quote from the many 'Human decency is not derived from religion. It precedes it'

He put into words what we already knew.

I very much admire these men. So intelligent and well-spoken. Their books are reasonable, logical, factual, and scientific. They are among my heroes. 🙂

This is one of my all-time favorite videos called The Four Horsemen

@Kojaksmom Very interesting discussion! 🙂

Hitchens made a really good dent in my head.

I really miss Hitchens!

You do know that his great mind rejected the politics of the right which you are so keen to propound. He was a lifelong socialist, and a member of the British Labour Party.
