Cry for attention, but who cares? each to his own, but not to my tastes.

I see it as purely self expression, like a hair style. I have 1 tat, it has significance to me. My daughter has so many, I lost count long ago, for her it is the overall image I think rather than the significance of any particular tattoo.

They think they're being non-conformist. However, the very act of doing something because others are doing it is being conformist.

I can't look long at a person with a nose piercing. It's like looking at somebody with a booger hanging off their nose. LOL

That's OK, I'm not sure I want you looking at me 😉

Depends on the tattoo. If the tattoo is innocuous, I don’t even mind seeing it on waiters or baristas. But if it’s gory or creepy, I’d rather not see it... at least from my food server. I’m comfortable with a ‘few’ tattoos, but at some point it starts to feel more like a need to be noticed.

That being said, tattoos on Christians really pisses me off. These are the same people who use Leviticus to condemn gay people, and yet don’t even think twice about painting their bodies...

Self expression. Sure, sometimes that expression is a cry for attention, but it's disingenuous to imply they are mutually exclusive. How we present ourselves is self expression. Be it tattoos, piercings, haircuts, the clothing we wear, the way be talk, how we stand, how we walk, etc.

I assume it's a form of expression.

I'm a heavily tattooed person , some of which are plainly visible.

My initial thoughts were 'why does this person want to know?' 😉 they obviously don't have any visible tattoos or else they would have an answer 🙂

So, speaking only for myself, mine are a combination of self expression and 'badges' of identity/belonging -which could, I guess, be interpreted as cries for attention 🙂

Personal choice and another canvous being an artist. I never say to people without them anything about not having any either. I have self harmed before but it was to show how much I meant what I said so tattoos could be that with a big fuck you to people who want me to conform.

That is a difficult one. I have no tattoos personally but people I think have them to express themselves in many different ways. Maybe some become addicted to them also..

What difference does it make? Unless they're yours.

IDK, I do not have any.
