It isn't my poor choices, but the lack of choices open to me, due to capitalism. People buy into the idea that anyone can rise to the top. However statistically if you took a random sample of the top 1% of income earners, you woudl see that less than 6 out of 10,000 were not already born into wealth. The idea of economic mobility is more of a myth than a reality. It is only a limited number of persons who are allowed to succeed, but the number is just high enough to keep up the illusion that it is possible for anyone, but no higher.
I love capitalism, its Corperationism is the bitch.
Okay and? Can we not blame anything on capitalism? If there is not livable wages provided and there is a guaranteed unemployment rate in the labour market, how can life choices possibly help with either of those? Not everyone can be a doctor or lawyer or successful trades person after all. We NEED food service workers and other low paid jobs because SOMEBODY has to do those jobs. Why not pay those people a livable wage to keep up with inflation?? How come inflation has continuously increased and wages have not? Wage stagnation is a problematic feature of capitalism to ensure companies' profits say high.
@BD66 since you are from the USA, this is relevant to your society: [pewresearch.org]
Fake. I know her. She would never say this...
Nothing gets by you.
lol true...Lisa is pretty smart...fake news...
Yeah, I am sort of tired hearing about Wall Street cheating millions of dollars from retirement accounts , leaving our elderly to live on $1000 or less on social security. Poor choice for working 30 years for a scum bag corporation.
I am also tired of hearing about the high cost of medications. Suck it up. Those pharma executives need another vacation home. Poor choice for getting a disease.
People like being poor...they choose it...how do I know? Because there are idiots out there who say so...
