Life Lessons Learned... post a life lesson learned over the course of years that you've circled the sun.

For me, it was realizing that I should not expect people to do the smart thing simply because I was right when I stated my case for a solution. People have the right to make poor choices. Mostly, it's not my business.

Unfortunately, I did not come to terms with this until about age 50. My blood pressure is much better for it now that I have accepted more of a "live and let live" perspective.

Except for human rights issues, which I still get riled up about. Lol

I learned that I can not solve the worlds problems ... but striving to change some lives makes a small but significant difference

Be a good person and kick the bad ones in the crotch

The only person I can change and control is myself.

I've learned that loyalty is a rare commodity.

The most important lesson I have learned in all these years (aprox. 59) is that I am an idiot. Seriously, I have finally realized I am an idiot. And I am not proud of it.
Thanks.

If you adjust your expectations of others low enough, you will never be disappointed.

I need to remind myself of this more often

  1. No one can honestly please everyone.

  2. Be your authentic self. This helps one to efficiently figure out who dislikes the real self so that time wasted on such persons can be minimalized.

  3. Liars often win. If you choose a truthful path, expect to sometimes (often?) lose to those who don't. People tend to believe what they most want to, not necessarily what's true.

@NoPlanetB Indeed. 2 can feel pretty risky, but I feel better knowing right away, so I minimize unfruitful investment. I can still be courteous, but won't spend much more than that.
