Yep, and I remember the waitresses on roller skates delivering trays to the cars that needed the windows lowered to accommodate the trays. The nearby Sonic comes close these days, but the rootbeer isn't nearly as good.
We used to go to a Bob's Big Boy or it might have been A&W with our cars and motorcycles in Hawthorn CA. back in the 60s. I don't remember which it was. It will come to me eventually.
funny about A&W. still going strong in canada but i hardly ever see one on my annual trips south.
In Campbellton, New Brunswick. Campbellton was the next largest place to Dalhousie about a 20 minute drive. I would go with my mother for groceries.. A & W was in the mall.. Mom and i would have lunch once in a while. Good memories! Thianks for the question so relevant to my life.
And a side note.. I just finished playing "Lodi" by CCR with my son Ben on the guitar about half an hour ago.. lol
As a kid, I loved root beer floats.
At age 18, I stopped drinking soda pop and eating fast food.
