The word "blessed." Unfortunately I live and try and date in a pretty religious state. Many of the women looking for "christian men" or who put god first in their lives. I'm also leery of women who use the word "blessed" in their profiles. Like, "I'm blessed to have wonderful job or family. To me, who never says the word blessed, "blessed" connotes a religious person. Do you non-religious people use the word blessed and if you do, is it just habit from your religious days or is your use just "non-religious."
"blessed" is a word...has no place in my normal vocabulary: meaning is too obscure...
It drives me crazy. Everyone in hick-town NC says it... all the freaking time. That and praise god/praise the lord.
I like the idea of having a blessed vagina!
because it might get more action or for religious reasons?
@zesty well that's a whole new conversation, I've never heard of god having a wife or dating so whether god fucks or not is a good question. But an inconsequential one since there is no god. Of course many on this site are just mad at god so for that definition I think they would agree that it is a fucking god
I like praise the lord - we have real life lords over here..... nd a few of them do stuff that is worthy of praise. Blessed with, bless you, etc, I never use, but hear it a lot and tend to ignore it.
Never use it. And really get irked when I get a recording that ends with 'have a blessed day'. Barf.
That saying irks me too. It’s so condescending!
The exception is Bless You when someone sneezes
@CrazyQuilter silly is middle name
Sneezer: sneezes
Me: You are so good looking!"
@AlPastor aw shucks
I say it as much as possible, along with stuff like "praise the Lord!" and "glory be to Christ!" - partially because it annoys religious people when they find out I'm an atheist, but more so because it really pisses off the sort of atheist who feels the need to try to educate all other atheists about how we shouldn't say things like that.
If that was an attempt at a cut, perhaps you could re-read my post and try and look at it from what info I was seeking from it--is it only religious people who use the word or not. Your motives are your own but if you took my post as an attempt to try and tell people what to say or not say, in an attempt to be polite, I'll just use the word wrong for your assumption
I don't personally use it and don't pay attention when others say it. Typically they're trying to be nice.
