Final court date tomorrow. The singularly most painful and distressing event of my life. Whenever I get overwhelmed, I think about all the lasses 100 years ago who worked 16 hour days in the mills, the women down the pits and all those women who have struggled throughout history. I am fairly fortunate so whatever happens, I have a lot of be grateful for. I can be strong...so can you.

Likely that you will feel relief.

You’ve got a great outlook. I’m hoping things go fairly for you.

I liken my last divorce settlement to having the most complete bowel movement of my life, no obstruction afterwards. Regardless of the cost you will now have a clear path to victory, whatever that may entail you will know the path.

hope it goes well for you

When you talk about that kind of history, you make me think of a wonderful, tho dark and depressing UK film I saw a few years ago, I, Daniel Blake. I doubt most Americans have ever heard of it, but man was it honest and powerful. The UE system is just as fucked up here as in your country and that's part of what struck me about it. The rich using their bought government to punish and torture the common workers. I liked it so much I bought the DVD and try to lend it to my liberal middle class friends who've never been on UE so they might learn something about what most disposable workers go thru.

One of my fav films. Watched it a few times and cried buckets every time. The court case is in connection with my divorce so I am much more fortunate than Daniel Blake (who was a real person btw)

@Amisja That's what I gathered in the DVD's commentary part of the film with the director and writer. I cried too the first time I watched it. How could anyone not unless they were a heartless conservative? Damn Tories and Repubs, respectively...

@TomMcGiverin damn em all

@Amisja I assume that in the UK, just like in the US, the conservative get people to vote against their class interests using the same methods of division. Namely, dividing people by railing against immigrants, racial minorities, gays, abortion, promoting religion and traditional values (whatever they are) etc... Did I leave anything out?
