No but can blame government for doling out welfare to large corporations that provides for the inequality. They are rich because of American workers.

You... as a fine American... are, in my opinion, OBLIGATED to speak up. Just as Woody is. Just as I am. We don't have to agree though.
I applaud all those who've posted. @robecology, @cutiebeauty, @thinktwice, and the rest who will no doubt chime in. But I think its disingenuous to "bite the hand that feeds you", so to speak. My opinion only.

It doesn’t change what he says from being true. Perhaps if more people like him, who have the fame and money to speak out, did so...then we could change things for the better and take on the corporations. The best way to change something is from the inside, and good for him that he’s made 65 million dollars...isn’t that supposed to be the American Dream?

Yep. More an American myth. The percentage of individuals who make a better life for themselves than their parents had is pretty small. Woody would be one of those "poor boy makes good" sensational stories that's so rare, the tabloids write about it.

Now, let me say....I'm sad that your intro has to mention, and denigrate, his wealth.
He's a spokesperson.
He's taking risks of losing support by coming out against the very corporations that feed him....so let's empathize. He's using his success and popularity to reach people to create social justice. If this were you or I we'd make far less of an impact.
You may see this as hypocrisy; but I don't. There's lots of wealthy actors who do NOT speak out for any social causes...and they're the ones who are far more hypocritical.
People attack Leo DeCaprio for being environmental activist as well.
They laugh at his wealthy lifestyle, his private jets, etc. But again...he's taking a lot of risk speaking out against the "establishment"; and if you dig in to either one of their personal lifestyles...you'd see that they do their best to support their cause - they spend a far greater percentage of their income for charity than you or I do
Let's applaud these fellows for NOT "keeping their mouths shut" for "speaking out against the establishment" that in many ways fund their success.
You or I could never dream of having near the "impact" they do.

Thank you...some people with money actually are very aware and do what they can...I don't fault people for wealth...I fault them for being shits about it...
A lot of wealthy people work behind the scenes but those with celebrity take the biggest risk of being ostracized or boycotted...speaking against issues that affect them as well as others and recognizing the corruption is not a bad thing...
I use tax loopholes all the time for myself and my clients...but I also point them out and try to get them fixed so everyone can benefit fairly.
Trying to shut up the good people that freaking earned their money with hard work, talent, luck etc. and yes, even taking advantage of corruption, does not mean you like it, support it, or don't see the injustice in it for others.
I can't argue with your logic or your facts @Robecology. I don't know what percentages of income or wealth anyone else contributes. I do know that corporations are artifacts. They have no morals or emotions. They are vehicles used to generate wealth... that's it. No other function. I've worked for a few that have been very good to me. And those were also very good to the communities that they were located in.

Can you equate Tesla with GM or Ford? Of course not.
Tesla gave away all their patents! They made them public! GM and Ford would never consider doing that.
Some are clearly more "conscientious" than others.

Maybe I was just lucky in who I worked for. I sure as hell didn't select a job offer based on "humanity of the corporation"....
