No kidding. Brexit is shooting themselves in the foot.

has the insanity of tRUmp invaded Europe also?

Why? not disagreeing, but interested in other perspectives of brexit

@starwatcher-al Not only Europe. We have a happy clappy for a prime minister here in Australia too.

@ToolGuy There is a misconception that the EU is undemocratic, nothing could be further from the truth...nothing is imposed, everything is debated, all MEPs are elected to EU Parliament, all decisions made are consensual, all 28 countries (soon to be only 27) have power of veto, the bureaucrats in Brussels only carry out the instructions and draught the legislation passed in Strasbourg by the Parliament. The council of ministers decide on the policy and they comprise the heads of state of all 28 members, chaired on six monthly rotation amongst each member state, The EU is probably the most democratic union in the history of the world.

@ToolGuy Don’t believe everything you read....I like Yanis, but his take is very much slanted to the left.

@QuidamOutrepont didn't Greece cook it's books to meet the minimum economic requirements to join the EU? While I'm no proponent of austerity economics, many of Greece's problems are self inflicted.

Seems to me like in the EU like in many others places in the world, money talks loud. Buying up and buying out politicians and entire governments, imposing its will, rewriting the laws in its favor.

@QuidamOutrepont No....that is completely wrong. That is not how the EU works....read my reply to @ToolGuy above. Misconceptions abound. Greece was a basket case because of its own corrupt political system and an inability to collect taxes. That, and decades of unrest with military coups and unstable governments was what caused the Greek problem...they should never have qualified for membership of the Euro, but they cooked the books ...the EU rescued them, they should be grateful.

@ToolGuy If you don’t mind me saying...I believe you don’t have the full picture and are believing the left wing hype of Mr. Varoufakis. I am far from a right wing republican incidentally, but have read and observed both sides of the argument already.

@ToolGuy Please do not insult my intelligence by sending me anything to read which has been published by Express newspapers....it, along with the Daily Mail has been running a campaign against the EU for 4 decades, It is not an impartial news source. You forget that I live in the UK, so know first hand, rather than just see selective articles like you do, The Daily Mail and the Daily Express are both anti EU propaganda mouthpieces,

@ToolGuy Btw...I do not like being patronised....telling me to do some studying is just that...perhaps you don’t realise that I am an intelligent woman who has already read and analysed the situation. Just because I take a different viewpoint does not mean I am uninformed.
