His ways are mysterious and 'past finding out', but at the same time, he is not the 'author of confusion' and 'even the simple can understand'....

My friend who is Jewish laughs when this comes up. She told me that being "in the belly of a fish" means you have a problem that you can't quite work out. The bigger the problem, the bigger the fish descriptor.

Kinda like "hell" is being separated from god which is considered a punishment in & of itself, not a fiery pit of eternal torture (also known as Sunday service at an Independent Fundamental Baptist church that's supposed to end at noon & the benediction is still going on at 12:35).

They have to put on their God glasses in order to believe the bible.

This would look like toddlers tales... but Jonah seems to be ready to be taken by someone?

The ones who look for "scientific" explanations say it could have been a giant grouper. O2? Stomach acid? Space?

I just ask them if they really think prayer works, and to give me a real example. Like: at a school shooting. Most cannot be reasoned with though, and you’ll just drive yourself and those around you insane if you try. Trust me. Years of experience here!

Yes, prayers are like applause, always after the event, they don't change the event or prevent future ones...

This is an argument against Biblical literalism, not Christianity. In the US only about 30% of Christians are Biblical literalists.

Doh, but I read it on the internet in Wiki something! Therefore it must be true.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😁🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂

@FrayedBear Do you have a point you are trying to make?

@Druvius Those who believe in the bible literally or metaphorically most probably believe that everything that they read on the internet is true or that politicians do not lie.
