I do not like to curse in social media or here but FUCK NO! I have zero respect for thoughtless beliefs based on faith. Faith is from where "beliefs" come, that is believin something without evidence, the most dishonest position a persin can have. When they make choices based on their magical, invisable, sky daddy friend that affects my life. When they make choices based on their imaginary freind it is dangerous for all of us.
For evidence for my case I give you 9/11. Bullshit, it should NEVER be tolerated or accepted.

With that being said we should ALWAYS respect the HUMAN BEINGS poisoned by religious "beliefs"

Religion is behind every war. Religion is the root of hate. I respect no religion.

I try to focus more on behavior than beliefs. If you do good works that mesh with my ethics, i don't care that much about your belief system. I know lots of people who are smarter than me and better than me who are theists. When it comes down to it, even though I am completely atheist, i care more about a persons Humanity. If a kid believes in Santa and they choose to be nice not naughty: awesome. If another kid doesn’t and is a little shit: not awesome. Kids have magical thinking and all adults believe lots of things that are not factual. I guess i am saying that Humanism is more important than Atheism to me. Most of us could err on the side of respecting more than we do, and it would be a better world.

Only when they respect my disbelief.

I accept that everyone has a right to believe whatever they choose - but in some casesthe person, or the belief, can negate all possibility of my respecting them - but I will try and be civil

When they affect my life...NO!

No matter what those ‘beliefs’ are based on?

When my life is being influenced by the delusional beliefs of the misinformed … I will continue to speak up.

'Respecting others' beliefs' as a general rule is very dangerous. Some beliefs do not deserve respect, and should be shunned at every opportunity. Do you really respect someone's belief that black people are property, Jewish people should be gassed, or that women should not have any autonomy? I sure hope not.

Some of the stories are fascinating. I love listening to them all. They are bollox of course but I respect all people until they believe their religion tells them to hate others. Then respect is gone.

I respect others beliefs but keep them to yourself or I will destroy you verbally and say bad things about your DNA family sexual practices heritage intelligence and appearance

I respect the right of others to hold their beliefs, I do not need to respect their beliefs to do so. These are two quite separate things entirely.

I tolerate beliefs, I respect rights within certain limits, and I like and respect people until they give me a reason not to. Trying to inflict your beliefs on others without their consent, I have little tolerance for.

I love it

I will respect your right to voice them . Or practice them at the privacy of your home , on your own kids , and at your own schools ✌🏻
Preferably i do not wish to pay for your beliefs at any level .
If your beliefs result in poor health , I will prefer if u pay your bills 😂✌🏻
Deal ??♥️

I have no respect for the belief of others. Most have some variant of the mud man and rib woman fallacy.

Didn't mud man get a female clone of himself? Thus making out with rib woman was playing with himself? Should that story be on porn hub?

I respect others right up to the moment I find out what they are Really like, sadly.......

Nope. I don’t respect the belief that evolution and climate change are not real. I don’t respect beliefs in religions where women are considered second class or lesser humans that need to be controlled by men. I don’t respect beliefs that cut children’s genitalia. I don’t respect beliefs that were made up by hat trick con men or science fiction writers. I don’t respect beliefs that reject modern technology. I don’t respect beliefs when the believers worship in a mega church with a charismatic millionaire leader. I could go on longer but the answer is no, I don’t respect other beliefs.

If it was only that easy.

You probably summed it up best.

5

What if someone believes in, for example, human sacrifice? Do we respect that?

No

@Lorajay Exactly my point. It's easy for the OP to say "Let's respect each other's beliefs", but then we get down to brass tacks.

I do not feel that I have to respect everyone's beliefs as some are despicable; but, I do respect a person's right to their beliefs. As long as they do not try to force their beliefs onto me, and the rest of us, or do harm to me, or others, because of what they believe I have no problem with them.

I couldn't agree with you more.
"I do respect a person's right to their beliefs."
