I was Muslim when I was young and I left Islam when I was 23 years old in Syria before the war, because I couldn't believe that God sends only religious muslims to heaven and all other people to hell.
And I couldn't believe that God would burn any person in fire in hell.
I didn't talk with my family and my community about my new thoughts because it was dangerous, I was very alone.
During the war in Syria I worked as a reporter with an online newspaper so the government arrested me for a year when they discovered my job because it's a dictatorship in Syria.
It was a miracle that l left the prison.
Now I am 35 years old and I have been in Sweden in Skåne for 2 years.
It's very nice here but I need swedish friends to feel that I belong to this beautiful country and of course I need love.

Great photograph! Sounds like you need one of those beautiful Swedish women to kayak with.

Wishing to make friends there is a good idea. Social connectedness is very important. What can you do to become more connected? Can you get involved in volunteering? Community involvement, however that is done there, that's what I would think.

Musab, virtually everyone except a few old folks in sweden are non religous, so you won't find many or even any swedes here. How is your swedish?

I used to have an on line friend in Sweden who told me her postmistress shuttered every time she got a postcard from me. Post mistress would warn her about us evil Americans.

Either Sweden or South Carolina (US), you're better off not being in a war zone.

I like reading travel stories and watching travel videos. When it comes to visiting other countries, Syria tops the list of "Never, never, go there."

Good to know you got out alive. If I get seriously lost I'll have to go see the Tropikariet in your neck of the woods. I've never petted a monkey. Their museum of failure sounds pretty neat.

I can't help you with Swedish friends, but if you need any atheist friends in America, I am here.

Good luck. You seem to be one of the few from the Muslim world who saw the light as a lot of them are quite violent and disturbed.

I wish you a good start to a new life

Man, friends are the people who stay with you when you're down. It doesn't matter if they are religious or not, the nationality, the colour of the skin. I wish you find that kind of people for your own sake.

i am glad you escaped religion, got out of prison and went to a place as nice as i imagine sweden is.

a lot of folks, it seems, find their way out of theism first by discovering there cannot be a GOOD god; eventually they discover there cannot be any god at all. i suppose the former is a natural first step, as so many people take it. i am guessing (since that was not my path) that it is a relief, after knowing there's no good god, to know there's no bad god either. now humans -- that's a whole other story lol. anyway, welcome!

Great to know that you left Islam. We are in the same boat. But as you know I live in a Muslim country and I have to be very discreet. Wish you a great life in Sweden.

Pleased you found a way out of Syria to a new life in Sweden.
Hope you soon find a partner for life
