Some here may recall the famous case of Doctor Hawley Harvey Crippen, executed in 1910 for the murder of his wife in cold blood.
His name is still a synonym for murderer, though he insisted to the moment he was dropped and hanged by the neck that he was innocent.
The two years ago three pieces of evidence came to light

1. a letter written by Mrs Crippen from the USA to then home secretary Winston Churchill proclaiming she was alive and well and living in Wisconsin. The letter was apparently misplaced by Churchill and was uncovered during research for a new biography in his collected papers.
2. The blood stain found on a mattress found in Cripin's basement was from a man
3. Mrs Crippen's death certificate under her new married name was found in Wisconsin dated many years after the unfortunate doctors execution.

decedents of the Crippen family are still fighting for a posthumous pardon for their ancestor, however until such time as one is granted in the eyes of history and the law the interred remains of an innocent man remain in unhallowed ground and the man himself is still a convicted murderer with no right of appeal, because of course he is dead, a life cut short in punishment for a crime he definitely did not commit.

This is why no matter how "Obvious" it is that some one is guilty of a crime state sanctioned execution is never a suitable punishment, as it is neither a punishment nor is it Justice, it is a public act revenge.

It has been proven statistically that the death penalty has no deterrent effective whatsoever.

It allows the primitive execution of the 1754 BCE Code of Hammurabi law, An Eye For An Eye, to be actioned.

If you think vengeance for no productive reason other than a temporary feeling of bullying satisfaction is useful then why not!

I am not in favor of the death penalty. It does nothing to deter the most violent of crimes. It costs a fortune in tax payer money with all the appeals ans such.
Better to work on educating, solving the racial divide and income in equality. Too many dis enfranchised angry white men in this country.

When you execute a mass murderer you can be pretty sure that he will never do it again.

I'm not really big on capital punishment but in the case of a hands-down murder such as that of a number of people I have no problem with it.

I agree that hate crimes deserve punishment, but I disagree with the policy of the state putting someone to death.

Kill someone to show just how wrong killing people is

Yet still people kill people, so we have to keep on killing people until people get the message killing is not right.
Of course it makes perfect sense,

I think a death sentence is correct for any preplanned murder Jewish or anyone else.
