Time to start prepping for the possibility of Dorian coming to call.

If you're in the "cone of uncertainty", don't wait.
Get started now. Fill water jugs, make ice, get
food that doesn't require cooking. If you have a
generator, buy fuel now.
Pick up around your home and yard. Trim back potentially
problematic limbs.
Put up the pool toys and lawn furniture.

Don't wait until the last minute.
It's Wednesday, the storm isn't scheduled to start impacting Florida and possibly Georgia until the beginning of next week.
Start now.

I heard that Trump has cancelled a trip to Poland because of the hurricane. What is he going to do I wonder. Hand out paper towels to mop up the rain ?

I just happened to have trimmed back the trees this past Sunday but they haven't been picked up yet.

Since I have 4 teens here, the yard stuff will be breeze.

I do think I will go buy a generator and cans tomorrow after work since my daughter will be coming home from having surgery this Saturday and I have a couple of hurricane air conditioners.

I didn't even realize we were at risk until a couple of hours ago since my daughter had her surgery today but had her car totaled in a wreck the day before after someone ran a stop sign so I have not really been plugged in

May we live in interesting times I suppose.

Hope your daughter's recovery is speedy and complete.

We'll all probably be okay, but it's a good idea to be prepared.

Yup excellent advice also batteries or crank rechargeable lanterns(safety cross or other) recharge battery for cell phones

I forget that you live in Georgia. Yes, but prepared and be careful.

We'll probably be fine. I just have been through enough of these things that
I'd rather over-prepare than under.

@KKGator I know what you mean. Hurricanes Ike and Harvey hit this area hard in recent years.

@balou I've been going through these storms since I was a little kid. My grandparents had a house in south Florida, and I remember watching mailboxes and garbage cans flying down the street. Been through a bunch of the nasty ones. Andrew was terrible.
I never take these things lightly.

@KKGator Fortunately we don't get those over here but there was a tornado in Madrid yesterday

Good advice. I have experienced 4 hurricanes.

I've lost count. It's well over a dozen.
