Going to work is the best part of the day. Weekends kind of suck and I dread the three day weekend coming up. It’s sad.

This is why it is important to find something you really like doing for a career choice. I gave up an advertising career to play music. I am sure I would have made more money in advertising, but I am sure my life would have been less interesting, less exciting, and less fun. It could be stressful, but stress is easier to deal with if you like what you are doing. Only you can figure out what your priorities are, and there may be some trial and error along the way.

To help pay for my bachelor degree, I waited tables. It hard work and mostly fun. I love people. The daily free meal was a big help at the end of the month.

Be cheerful and smile at your customers. That will get you better tips.

The nicer the restaurant, the higher the tips.

Remember you can have chocolate cake with icing any time you want for breakfast (adult win).
(Ok I may only do that the day after my birthday).

And the first few days of ANY new job are exhausting physically and emotionally - usually by the end of the second week you start to feel more a real part of things.

What is your work uniform?

Good for you for finding some positives. I doubt there’s a job without some sucky days. One of my daughters is a server in a ski resort town and she loves the job except when privileged young adults show up. She says they are demanding and are shitty tippers.

In the year 2000 I took a year off from doing CNC machine tool repair and I became a bartender instead I actually enjoyed it. After a year of that I decided to go on to being a machinist. I was tired of all the running around. Give it a chance. Ya never know.

Learn to love what you're doing and you'll never work a day in your life.

Hang in there

Don't think about work tomorrow unless you're being paid to think about it. Use your distaste of this job to motivate you to find/get trained/educated to do something you can stand for the next 35 to 40 years.

Or win the lottery, of which I'll expect a cut of for suggssting you do so.

It will be what you make of it. If you go in with a "this sucks" attitude... it will certainly suck. The alternative is a way better approach. You will get through it much easier, and so will everyone around you. Make the best of each and every day with a plan in the back of your head to make it even better the next day.
