Is everyone alright? I hate reading about these shootings. It must be terrifying.

If you browse international news sites like AJ you can be even more terrified and depressed

If you let them terrify you, you would be in constant fear. We have more than one a day, 255 so far this year. Thank God our government is working hard to solve the problem with thoughts and prayers.

It doesn't affect me at all. We had a murder in my home town two weeks ago and it was the first in years. Things like this are just not part of our world. I cannot comprehend the fear people must feel sending their children to school or going shopping. I once watched two Romanian guys have a fake fight in Lidl so their mate could steal loads of booze. Its was the most exciting thing I seen in years!

@Amisja I have spent 35 years in my hometown and 1974 was the only year there was a murder. A son of the richest family in Worthington came home and killed his brother, mother and father. He was adjudicated mentally ill. I don't know anyone who ever got murdered except one friend of mine in Utah when he tried to take a gun away from someone at a party.

Interesting how things go in this world. The wife and I planned to make the trip down to Odessa on Saturday morning (when the shooting occurred), but her days off were changed and we wound up going to Odessa Thursday. Now, it's not that we would have been anywhere near the incident, but it was possible. The current atmosphere in the United States is the reason why I now carry a large propane torch and my urn in the car. Ya never know, and I don't want to put anybody out too much.

Oh dear

Thank you for asking, there's nothing going on here than a little bit of common Sense might help. I hope you got that social security thing straightened out. The second amendment they like to bring up was adopted in December of 1791 I'm certain they had no idea what they were starting.

@Bobby9 I was thinking more about availability of any pinhead to go and get a gun capable of firing multiple rounds without ever having to reload that they never even envisioned.

@Bobby9 one can only choose but Wonder.

@Bobby9 We should still be concerned about a tyrant in a central government authority as they have killed more people than individuals ever did. Hell despite all the publicity your chances of getting shot by a mass shooter is actually very low.

And Texass just loosened gun laws. All is OK in central NY

We never know.. I’m sure the constant threat of being gunned down adds serious tension to most outings. So glad ‘my kids’ are out of school, and I no longer work inside one… We’ve a very, very sick nation..

Unfortunately we seem to have a lot of crazies now days. Maybe more law abiding citizens should armed themselves and learn how to use them so we can take those nuts out before they do so much damage.

Didn’t ‘the guy’ shoot 3 cops? How much more armed should ‘we’ be…? If I weren’t familiar with your ..stuff… I’d assume you were attempting to make a very sick joke ~

@Varn Sadly I think he was probably serious. The good guy with the gun against the bad guy with the gun nonsense.

@Varn If you went into a place with the intention of shooting it up or rob it and everyone in there had a gun strapped on their belt would you still shoot it up or rob it? Not likely.

@Trajan61 These aren’t robbers, they’re mass murders seeking ‘soft targets.’ Everyone packing a gun is ..unrealistic in any nation. Their weapons need to be limited and/ or confiscated. This is not getting better or going away, and of course more guns aren’t the answer. Honestly, I can’t believe anyone’s still suggesting that.

Even I’ve changed my tune; once OK with a ban on ‘assault weapons and associated gear,’ leaving what out there out there …. I now suggest removing what’s out there, too. What next, a total gun ban? If this gets worse, or goes unanswered much longer, maybe so…

@Varn When you start picking up guns that are already out there a whole lot of people will be killed. In spite of all the publicity your chances of being killed by a mass shooter are lower than being struck by lightning.

@Trajan61 It’s just totally out of control, and has become ‘the latest thing.’ Shoot up society - then ‘death by cop’ ...maybe extra points if you take some out too! It’s never been like this, not in my ever-extending lifetime..

I’ve got guns, and use them. As mentioned, there needs to be serious compromise, before the public at large demands they all be banned! ...don’t know that I’d die ‘defending mine,’ but I’d put up a serious fuss.

Are you alright ? Have not heard from you for a while and know you are having problems.

There are now bits of visible carpet. My life often seems like a complete disaster movie but I never give up. Its nothing a few grand wouldn't cure (oh that and a couple of cervical vertebrae). I'll get there. Thank you for asking xx

@Amisja Take care, but don't wait for ever for things to come right, sometimes you just have to grab a bit of joy as it passes by. It will work out I am sure at least you have a steady job with a steady income.

@Fernapple I do. I am grateful for the good things in my life
