It's ironic that servicemen returning from Vietnam were treated badly although they were drafted and had no choice whereas veterans of the US's more recent illegal wars are treated somewhat better although they have chosen to enlist.

@Moravian many enlisted for a education that the establishment keeps from them by cost. Some believe they are protecting us. Maybe you noticed that at accident scenes vets rush to help while others watch put their lives at risk for others.

@bobwjr I met a guy several times .friend of my partners son, who had served several tours in Afghanistan and if I was in a fix I would certainly turn to him but politics ?. A no go area. Very right wing views.
