One of my Evangelical classmates calls himself "a justified sinner" to excuse his homophobia, self righteousness, and treating a non believer like myself like pure crap. He has admitted that he is insensitive towards others (recently on my discussion board post) and is getting into the Human Services field. He is in it for his own gains and told me he wants to 'spread the word of god.' This career is not meant for that. Get into ministry or something.

I normally don't dislike others due to my kindness, openness, and accepting nature. But just being his classmate (used to be his friend until I found out he's a nutcase) and having to listen/read his stuff makes me angry. And that's not an emotion I have very often. I don't like feeling anger towards another person.
Why on Earth would you get into a career where being sensitive towards others is a MUST and you openly admitted you are an insensitive person? He also doesn't believe in Evolution and my counselor said she thinks he has borderline anti social personality disorder (I've talked to her about him).

It is literally cringe worthy, the stuff he says. And every time he talks, I lose a brain cell. I have no idea how I'm going to stomach being his classmate for another semester.....

So he uses religion to justify his sociopathy. Fine. Ignore him and move on.

What does "a justified sinner" even mean?

@vjohnson51 Although that seems even weirder than calling yourself a "forgiven" sinner, it does have a certain poetic charm. I watched an episode of Ken Burns' country music doc tonight, and now everything sounds like a Kris Kristofferson lyric.

Tell him you don't want to be near him anymore and the reasons why. That should be enough.

And, hit him with a clown hammer!

@PondartIncbendog I would leave the hitting out.

@Mofo1953 Well then, slap him with a trout!

@PondartIncbendog what do you have against trouts?

@Mofo1953 Alright already! Use a Hamster!

@PondartIncbendog nope, too cute.

my late best friend had an abusive father who, when my friend was about three years old, used to beat him up -- not spank; beat. there was only one thing the poor child could do to stop the beatings: laugh. the harder he was hit, the more he laughed. that freaked his father out and the beatings ceased.

there is nothing whatsoever you can say to your ex-friend and current classmate to change him. laugh at him.

meanwhile let me ask: what class is this, and does he say these things to you personally or in class? if personally, yes, just laugh. it will not change him but it might shut him up, and meanwhile the physical act of laughing will actually make you feel better. if in class, your obligation (as a human being) is slightly more complex, depending on what the class is and how it proceeds (do the students do a lot of talking or does the teacher drone on?) so i can say more if you tell me what class and how it goes.

One can only hope that no one in their right mind mind would hire him in the first place and if he is deceitful in the interview (something that is highly likely with hypocrites like him) that he is promptly terminated.

I definitely agree with your view, and by the way how are the fjords coming along?

Is the same thinking that a guy that wants to destroy forests to build farms will get into the environment preserving council... To implode the system from inside...

We can't control other people, just how we react to it

Which is precisely why I avoid most people.

@KKGator See, I can't control you and I also chose to agree with you to certain extent. I don't avoid everyone, just the few exceptions.
