Hmm, yes when I was in highschool 🤦 makes me fairly ancient.
In fact, I can remember when schematics like this were printed on the inside of any electronic device (tape recorders and tube radios, etc).

At least there’s a couple transistors in your schematic!

Almost looks like a transistor radio schematic except I don't see an out for the antenna.

What is it?

I remember doing that...it was cool to have your own artwork on it as well..

Yes..I remember my father doing this to my schoolbooks!

As soon as I saw the title of your post, I knew I was doomed....thanxabunch?

Yep - I can even remember paper bags at the grocery store!

@MissKathleen me too.

I have reusable bags from Amazon. They're really nice.

@MissKathleen I use them for recycling paper and plastic as well. I try to be a good citizen. But I keep hearing that 90% of what we put in the recycling bin is never really recycled.

Yes I remember. And we had inkwells on the desks made to take dip pens, (though nobody had one, not that old,) and the teachers used chalk on a black board. We had free school meals and a massive outbreak of food poisoning. You were told to bring woolly gloves to school because the heating was not good, and you would not be able to write if your hands were cold. And for some reason the uniform code extended to the colour of your underwear, which they did check.

You had a lunchroom? We had to walk home for lunch and back in a blizzard! 🙂

@TheoryNumber3 Yes different in the UK, the schools system used to provide free meals and keep you in all day. Though they have now cut back a lot for cost saving. The food was completely inedible, and forcing you to eat it, which was considered good disipline and training to make you tough, was a big part of the teachers jobs. They also used to give you a drink of milk mid morning, I don't know how they managed to do it, but they even managed to find milk which tasted horrible, I think it was the way they sterilized it, but we used to pull every trick we could to avoid it, so it must have been bad because you were beaten if you were caught.

@Fernapple That's what happened in British schools? Jeez... I'm glad I grew up here. That's awful!

I will admit that I am 🙂

Some used the funny pages from the Sunday newspaper.

I wrapped all my own. My mom taught me.

Yes I certainly do.

I'm old enough to remember when that was the color of the paper we wrote on.

oh yeah.. manilla paper. I always thought the teacher was pronouncing "vanilla" wrong. And do you remember that art paper with the fibers in it? I was always so excited when I got a smooth piece of paper to draw on

@TheoryNumber3 Yes I do. I remember the mint flavored paste also. If they didn't want us to eat it they should have made it taste like broccoli.

Remember? I still DO it.

I'm only 31 and I did this.

2

Yup... Old A&P Food bags with our own custom titles and art on the front and spine.

I can smell the mimeograph paper now.... ahhhhhhhhhhh

2

Yes we made our own book covers and signed our names and classroom number inside the ink stamped grid form below last years classmates stamped on the book board binder interior 7th grade geography 1964

Kept sweaty dirty hands and snowball fighting damage to books retarded

We had books at school ?!?!?

What did you have? Stone tablets?

1

Yes — I remember this. Does anyone else remember putting Wonder sandwich bread bags over your socks with a rubber band at your knees to keep them from falling down before you put on your rubber galoshes when it snowed? And those metal buckles on the galoshes that pinched your fingers and became frozen with compacted ice?

Yes... and the rubber rain boots that gave me welts on the back of my legs on that long walk to school in the rain.

1

Yep, I remember cutting up the grocery bags for textbook covers 🤪🤪🤪

1

Yeah, I'm old enough to remember textbooks. They seem to have fallen into disuse somewhere between the mid- 90s and the mid-aughts. Sad thing to see them go.

Yep
