#babyboomer. This is used as an insult more commonly these days and it initially confused me so I drilled into it. One reason given for the insult is that we have squandered the earths opportunities and damaged the environment and wrecked the job market but we are just people trying to get along.
I think that the second reason is that we are at an age where we have lost inhibitions. We don’t care what people think of us so much. We have lived for 6 decades and we think that we have acquired wisdom and we are not shy about sharing it. Patronising is a word that comes to mind. It’s a condition that’s obviously been around for Millenia since that word is so old. #imguiltyourhonour
In the 90s I watched my father suffer through brain tumours and wondered at his lack of filter that they caused. Ive been to the doctors myself to check for a brain tumour since I find myself talking without those same filters. It’s behaviour.
I hope that this makes sense.

What I see on Social Media are the insults that the Boomers ( and other "adults " ) hurl endlessly and effortlessly almost non stop at their own children and heirs. Whatever Boomers get in return is richly deserved.

My sister is the worst of the worst. But in her defense she thinks she is better and smarter than everyone else anyway........

My son loves to say, "ok, boomer" to piss me off. My parents were boomers and gen X were kids when I was an adult, so I do not relate to either. The word has definitely evolved into an insult.

People generalize their bad experiences all the time. I know someone who had a bad experience with a cop, so all cops are bad. Some stereotypes are born out by stats, better than others, but none are always true, including baby boomers being selfish and destructive and greedy. But...

but we are just people trying to get along.

Your words do tie in nicely with one, that your generation had bought into the concept of the ends justifying the means, and that led to lota of oversights/ lack of insights. And when the #okboomer meme started, that lack of insight/oversight you vaunted, was the justification for the lack of insight the meme complained about in the first place.

We haven't fought hard enough for environmental justice, and we let neoliberal oligarchs take control of politics. But, in our defense, they stole it with stealth and misdirection. Now some have realized their evil ways, but they are entrinched.

@Grahame true

@Grahame Isn't that why we strive to be comfortable? I sometimes like my moments of laziness

@twill So do I, and ATM I'm unable to do much, physical limitation.

@Grahame Gotcha
