Even if the dems showed undisputed evidence of him being a paid Nazi agent, they would acquit to avoid Pence, even for a few months.
Republicans know as well as the dems that there is no one this close to the election who could win.

Mitt's a Mormon and tries to be an honest human being. I think he finds the crassness of trump demeaning of the office. He is good at justifying but that will only go so far and he has reached his limits with trump.
If there could be a secret ballot for the vote in the senate I think trump would be impeached and remove. I would have not problem with a secret ballot, same way while I am curious who the whistle blower is I do not need to that detail.
