Overthink everything

Since I'm a 12-stepper, and pretty much all of us have control issues, I'm definitely an over thinker.

I'm still over thinking your question to post anything worthwhile 🙂

I spend so much time in my head I don’t even know the way back to the outside world anymore.

We all do it, it’s how we are wired. When we take the time to be present and not roominate life is better. This post hits on one of the best reasons to practice meditation. We still do it but can better recognize what we are doing and bring our mind back to the present, because that’s all we have... when lost in thoughts past and future we miss the president.

Yes, no, and I'm not sure.

I overthink the pointless shape of toilets and how un-ergonomic they are and why hasn't anyone addressed this. So that leads me to the realization we are just sheep or lemmings about to fly off the cliff. Then I completely miss the subtleties of certain conversations only for it to dawn on me days later..! I forget the 3rd point ?

Oh I very much over think, and yes, I always feel I'm forgetting something. I try to monitor myself enough to pull up a pen and paper if I'm feeling particularly scattered to make sure I get down what I don't want to forget.

I have the best conversations while I am driving. Cheaper than therapy and far more effective. No one is going to be as brutal with me as me. It actually works.

It's a proven technique used by therapists. Because of the lack of direct eye contact most people find it much easier to be open!!

@Nickbeee True, which is interesting when all you hear is that people can't trust someone to tell the truth if they are not making eye contact.

@AmyLF Yep odd paradox haha!!! Suppose it is the fact there is none makes it easier for person opening up! Bonkers really .. I don't know how it works with couches but I think they maintain eye contact. Person I knew who used this technique had dealt with refugee's from war torn Africa so they were really damaged people .. Worked as well 🙂

I have the tendency to over think everything, and I always feel like I'm forgetting something.
