What unabashed irrationality gets you. Should be a warning sign to his followers and others like them but since when did those deluded with the God virus let senseless martyrdom inhibit their convictions. Regardless of whether it was real its not an unprecidented occurance that someone dies thinking they're under the aegis of God.

Or it could be a developmental stage that we all go through.

He obviously hadn't finished reading the Bible yet, or he'd be aware of Matthew 4:6-7...

I'd say messing about with very large, wild carnivores is exactly the sort of thing Jesus had in mind!
