Democrats are quick to point out how citizens united has altered the political landscape in favor of wealthy republicans. What is missed in this is how the democratic party has been effected--Mike Bloomberg is the present example, but since money replaced ideas as the driving force in elections, democrats in congress who are willing to trade influence for campaign donations have also flourished. And as I watch who the "anyone but Bernie" folks are among my friends, they all pass the 500K mark--meaning their taxes would go up under Bernie's plan. The democratic party is increasingly being divided between those who have good insurance, can send their kids in college, who can have a comfortable retirement, and those who need Bernie to have a chance at these things. I find it sad.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.The C.U. ruling poisoned the whole political system. Most politicians, regardless of party, feel compelled to court money now or be run over by it. Bernie is the exception that proves the rule.

Unfortunately, those "comfortable" Dems are the only ones who are represented in the corporate media, which is shitting bricks about the prospect of a Bernie presidency..

Fortunately, or unfortunately really, there are many more who fall in that second category. Those who need Bernie to have a chance at a decent life. So there is potential for many more people voting Sanders than the others.

I think those Dems who are part of the top 10% of America in wealth and income need to have their own political party instead of standing in the way of the much larger number of Dem voters who need and want Bernie so they can have a fair deal in America. That is why if Bernie is screwed again by the party, it's time for the Dem party to blow up and have a new party for the Bernie supporters that actually represents them, instead of a privileged minority that currently controls the Dem party. As for the latter group, I don't give a damn whether they end up with a party that represents them or not, as long as the working class and the poor finally end up having a party that actually represents them again like they had in the 1960s.
