"If you are somehow still wondering why Black, Brown, poor and young people - the Bernie Folx - could possibly be so 'selfish' that they won't just bend the knee and #VoteBlueNoMatterWho, sit down and listen up.

Your willingness to stan for a segregationist, accused sexual harasser, pharma/insurance yes man, corporate toadie who can't seem to form coherent sentences, much less try to shame us and shove this guy down our throats, tells us a lot about liberal culture. It tells us our crushing lives will not change under Biden or Trump. We will still be killing ourselves, or thinking of killing ourselves every day because we cannot take a breath in this society. It won't matter.

We will continue to drown, even if you do get the scraps over which you're willing to stan him for, like judges or whatnot (which you probably won't get, because Biden is notorious for giving Republicans whatever they want as his opening bid. talk about 'art of the deal' lol).

For the first time in decades we have seen liberals joining affected communities because Trump is a clear and easy target. And what we do know, from experience, is that this big layer of 'allies' are not going to stay and fight if they think they've got what they wanted. Y'all went home after Obama. Y'all stayed home when the cages were built and the nighttime home raids and family separations started. Y'all stayed home while 3 million immigrants were snatched from their homes and workplaces. Y'all stayed home when the banks were bailed out and we were losing our homes, leaving the Right to snatch up the wave of economic populist rage that followed. Y'all stayed home as the rate of Black youth being killed by police rose to every eight hours. Y'all stayed home as cities turned into casinos and we got priced out of our own neighborhoods and turned out into the streets. Y'all stayed home while our friends and our kin kept dying because they could not afford healthcare.

We will continue to suffer and die under Trump. We will continue to suffer and die under Biden. The difference is, you will have thought that you won, and we will fade away while you head to your victory brunch."

Hateful, divisive rhetoric worthy of Russian propaganda. The compulsion to apply ever more stringent purity tests evokes the same revulsion as when it comes from Trump. Both extremes are unworthy of power. That's a big and good reason not to vote for Sanders. But losing Congress is the best reason. Try getting your revolution past Moscow Mitch...

So what's the solution? A vote for an old, extreme left leaning candidate who will have a large portion of the country against him? I think the model of putting Biden on equal footing as tRump is way over the top. Relationships including politics are always about compromise. Traditionally, the country has supported central figures not extremists. At this point in time it is about the global social and environmental situation. Simply, toooo many humans seeking the limited resource base of the planet. The tRumps of the world are increasing and it is more than simple politics. Humans do not control the world, nature does and we are her servants/slaves.

In a word, yes, the solution would be nominating Bernie. How will we ever really know if he is electable if never given the chance? I know in my bones that he has the best chance of beating Trump and in a leaked audio recording from 2018 at a dinner party of Trump's you can hear Trump admitting that he thought Bernie might have beaten him four years ago and that he was glad Bernie wasn't nominated. I have been offering to make bets against any Dems I know who support Biden that he will lose to Trump and nobody will take me up on it...

@TomMcGiverin It is thought Bernie might have beaten him as (some) we were not ready for a woman president. In the interim he has gotten more radical and even on the Yahoo news today it was shown Bernie and Warren were too radical and a lot of people have been leaving them of late. Again, we need a more moderate not someone who goes to the other side of politics. This will only push the fence sitters toward the crazy-in-chief. Last night I got a call asking if I would support Bernie in our primary. I said too late as I already voted and turned in the ballot (we have mail-in). Did not select Bernie.

@JackPedigo All I can say is enjoy your loss, not mine, in November when your establishment candidate loses to Trump. Your fault, not mine...

@TomMcGiverin Doubt Bernie has any better chances and from what I have been seeing lately Bernie's extremism is costing him. In the end we will all lose not just me. Even the fool tRump supporters will lose.

@JackPedigo Yes, we all lose and suffer from it, but it's your blame, not mine. I backed someone who could beat Trump, you didn't. It's that simple.

Still angry about the way Americans vote?

Well said.

And let's not forget why Biden was shamed into dropping out in 88. Plagiarism and telling ridiculous lies. He hasn't changed much.

Jimmy Dore has more

So true. I see these groups supporting Biden and I ask what do they have to lose from a Bernie Presidency and what do they have to gain from another do nothing Democrat like Biden? Nothing, in both cases. But Biden will beat Trump, some say, including here on this site. Are they serious? The clearly early dementia Biden (gives me no pleasure to say that) will be political road kill on election night. My prediction is that his mental infirmity will become obvious to all well before November and it will be too late. This train wreck will be unstoppable. As you suggest, even if Biden wins, it will be right wing US policy as usual.

Ask Americans what they know about Biden. You would be lucky if many of them could stste thst he was Vice president. He simply is not memorable or known. He will loose the election for a lack of sticking out or having anynparticular message that touches the masses. Trump is well known and will be elected. It boils down to a popularity contest.

Nope know Biden and so does the black community including south Carolina who voted for him . Don't know where you are getting your info but not from Delaware and the people who know him. But the republicans are actively trolling him to confuse the public

Biden was strongly opposed to busing to desegregate schools.

@RoboGraham Biden was opposed to the board of education being in charge of busing, not busing itself.. it was discussed in a debate..

@Cutiebeauty

Biden said- “I do not buy the concept, popular in the ’60s, which said, ‘We have suppressed the black man for 300 years and the white man is now far ahead in the race for everything our society offers. In order to even the score, we must now give the black man a head start, or even hold the white man back, to even the race.'”

He is not a person who believes that equity ought to given to the oppressed. He stood with outright racist segregationists to prevent busing. I'd wager that his opposition to the board of education being in charge of it was really just a way to fight it without appearing to do so.

@RoboGraham you are doing a good job for trump

@Cutiebeauty yeah that's true but some overlook that to made a bad point

@bobwjr

Right, if we don't bring this stuff up now and reject Biden, Trump will hammer him with it.

Joe has way too much in his past and on his record that Trump can take advantage of.

@RoboGraham trolls are already doing it false post disinformation etc, I will back whoever wins period anything less lets the orange asshole win

@bobwjr

Posting valid criticisms of candidates does not make people trolls. It's important to get this stuff out into the open so people can make informed decisions during the primary.

The best way to beat the orange asshole is to nominate our best possible candidate. Ther way we figure it who is best is by critiqueing each candidate with much scrutiny.

"VoteBlueNoMatterWho" is a euphemism for "We surrender to the GOP."

It's an anti trump phrase

@Cutiebeauty Yes, and by admitting that's all you have, you are surrendering to Trump on the issues. It was a losing strategy in 2016 and it's an even worse one now.

Trump has no issues just racism... He's gotta go... @Druvius

Wow. A powerful, beautiful reminder that 10’s of millions of us are living on the edge, homeless, suffering the stress of living paycheck to paycheck, losing our loved ones to any one of a thousand diseases or state-sanctioned punishments. Well, I can’t say it any better than you already have. Thank you ✊🏽💙

Well said. It echoes what Chris Hedges has been saying for years, that the liberals in the Dem party who really only care about abortion and identity politics, not at all about economic equality, the class war, endless wars, climate change, or the lives of the poor and working class, are a group that stands for nothing because they are not willing to fight for any of those things in my long list above. They are useless, phony hypocrites in my book and I wish we had a viable political party that did not include them, while letting them keep their useless Dem party. You also forgot to add that Biden clearly appears to have mild or early dementia, another reason that Trump will rip him to pieces in a debate. I hope Bernie is practical enough to take the gloves off and do it himself in the next debates so we are not stuck with Biden as a nominee, but I doubt it's in his nature and it may be too late anyway to change the minds of Biden's supporters.

The Dem voters that you and I are bashing are mostly all in the top 10% of income and wealth, so they are voting their economic interests while pretending to care about the lower classes and maintaining their privilege while keeping the Dem party to the right and focused only on identity politics rather than major change. They are fooling no one like you or me...

I also like the lines in your post about the whole practice of "negotiating with yourself", better known to me as the classic Obama "pre-emptive cave" that he would constantly do in the phony practice of pretending to seek bipartisanship with the Repubs that both he and we knew never existed in the first place. All a bunch of neoliberal kubuki theater for the rubes who vote and buy it anyway....

This two-party mentality breeds more narrow mindedness. The deep corruption of the US neo-liberal, status quo is as deadly to true democracy as the great intellectuals of yesteryear predicted it would be. It has happened before, but on smaller scales. Now the power is rampantly deadly.

2

Why oh why do people keep mistaking the dems for liberals?
