💑👦👧 How is the corona virus pandemic affecting you and your family? Do you visit less? Do you miss them? Frankie's family wants us to visit... I don't know about that..

I don't have any family around here.

I miss my son a lot they do not allow visitors which has gone on for 3 months. I signed a lease for a senior apartment but not for a nursing home and definitely not a prison. The new rules are a violation of my rights and I blame Donald Trump who is 6 years older than I am and deserves lockdown.

Even before lock down we didn’t do visits for Mother’s Day to protect them. My partner’s gran turned 90 yesterday and we had a lovely video call 😊 I talk to my brother and some friends, by hone, more than before I think.

I only miss my sister. I will not visit with her, even on her upcoming birthday, cuz she has a weakened immune system, and I could be a carrier 😟

Well, my family is now scattered around the world, I have my younger brother in London, my older brother and my mother in Brazil and my closest cousins in France and Switzerland. No flights available, even if I could afford, I'm "trapped" in Ireland. Me and some friends made a collective call on WhatsApp for the fun to compensate for not being able to go for a pint. I'll start working from home on Monday or Tuesday the latest, which will be great! Although I can't go for a drink or to tango, as I'm quite anti-social, I think this will be fun for me. Working at home and having my heavy metal always playing, not having people around me... I'm really looking forward to it!

So far it hasn't affected my family, but it sucks I can't go to the gym to get out the house.

Work out at home.

@PatrickKerr I have and it's not the same. It will have to due until we can return to normalcy.

Oh they want you to visit. How utterly convenient for them.

Stay home. If they want to see him that badly let them talk someone else into bringing them to your place.

I'm the designated grocery shopper for quite a few elderly family members

That's absolutely wonderful of you... But! That's great..

So that's how your selling "going to the store for beer, need anything while I'm there?". 😉

The only "visiting" I've done with my family thus far is to do laundry and dad's giving me a lift to my next doctor's appointment in the next county. Beyond that, we're staying to ourselves. The stock market crash tanked their retirement fund, so they're none too thrilled about that. Sis and her family live in Seattle and appear to be doing fine.

My 77 YO mom cancelled plans to visit us as the concert and class we had scheduled were both postponed. We were not sure if she might risk herself (if not had the virus, yet) or risk US (she got sick after being exposed to a coughing sick guy fresh off a plane from Sacremento).

I brought my 23YO daughter home from 4 hrs south of here. We had birthday plans and she worries about me. As a well stocked microbiologist, I can probably set her up as well as anyone,

My 20YO son is staying in his apartment (with his feline room mate), a few miles east of my house. We still visit each other, but are not mingling beyond either home.

everyone will get it so I'm just carrying on as normal

My brother has a theory that all people in authority that are necessary for our functioning should intentionally become infected, then those that survive will be immune and can carry on ... good luck with that.

WTH would you want to do that? What part of "highly contagious BEFORE any symptoms appear" do you not understand?

I do understand... That's why I said, "I don't know about that... " 😊

Don’t! Stay put and keep your little family safe. That’s an order from Aunty Marje!

OK.. I'll stay put or move to my home upstate... Less traffic there then in NYC...

@Cutiebeauty Sounds like a good plan.

@Marionville I've been thinking about leaving NYC since I found out there were 400 confirmed cases.. It's much higher now...

@Cutiebeauty Get away from centres of high population.

@Marionville I'm doing the best I can... I mostly go to the park which isn't crowded at all during the afternoon and I shop at produce stands instead of the supermarket when I can...

@Cutiebeauty 👍

Don’t visit, stay home

I work in urgent care, which currently is the front lines.
I’ve isolated myself from my family to protect them.

Good course to take,

Don't do it..My older sister wanted me to visit this w/e.. I told her no and explained why..she also has stage3 COPD...

Hope she doesn’t come in contact with anyone who has the virus.

@Marionville There's a good chance she has been, she worked in a law office for several lawyers..

@Charlene let’s hope she’s okay.

@Marionville Oh I am..

What part of "stay at home" is not understood by your family?

They miss baby j... But I told Frankie I don't want to go anytime soon.. He understands but his family doesn't...

@Cutiebeauty IS his fam religious? That could explain the lack of understanding. You should tell him to tell them babies have weak immune systems and they could be asymptomatic carriers and infect your baby unintentionally.

@demifeministgal yes, they are religious.. I'm not going to visit...

My son lives in Seattle WA and is scared, but we won't be visiting each other. My brother lives down the lane on the farm and we see each other more than we'd like, just because we don't get along that well .. peaceful co-existence ... For now the online world and television are my family.

I agree...online, TV, books & music are my life at the moment.
