Suspend our rights?[rollingstone.com]
I had people warn me about all the govt. abuses that Obama was going to do ( that never happened) as they stocked up on guns and ammo. Now that the Orange turd is taking away all their rights they and they clap and cheer as we all go further down the rabbit hole of authoritarianism. This country needs to fix it's education system so no more idiots like that are produced
Obama taught constitutional law at the U of Chicago and doesn't have Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
@MizJ Can you imagine being born into immense wealth with unlimited opportunity and squandering it all on self aggrandizement instead of pursuing higher education and knowledge of how the world works. He would have had all the legitimant praise in the world if he had thought about his fellow man with just a little of his time and possibilities. But instead he went off in a direction of immediate gratification and persuits of the flesh( not that Im knocking a little flesh persuit once in a while) and has led a life completely devoid of meaning or substance
The problems lay with ordinary scared socially dumb Americans. As the people panic and make up their own reasoning for the pandemic, it is they who cripple the spirit of the constitution. So to protect them, the governing bodies have to respond to force people to act in a way appropriate to the situation.
As such, no part of your constitution should be suspended, as to do so is an act of tyranny and every citizen and soldier must rise up and overthrow it.
So rock and a hard place. Damned if they don't, damned if they do. At least with some action by the government they can reverse it later. The constitution of the United States was never set up to cope with a global pandemic spreading to some seven thousand million people.
The "reason" for this pandemic is that it is zoonotic (it crossed from an animal into a human) and that humans have no immunity. < Mic drop >
Who understands what all this means? Part of the requests seem reasonable, parts do not.
After 911 the government had sweeping powers in re to surveillance, etc. That power was abused. We need to pay attention.
@MizJ If you have an I depth understanding can you please explain further?
@Flowerwall Of course. I was referring to the Patriot Act and the broad surveillance powers that it gave the government. This was in opposition of our constitutional rights to privacy. More h[aclu.org].
