US Air Force Reserves finally drops proselytizing video after MRFF demand!
The only overtly religious thing that ever happened in my dozen years in the Army, (1977-1898) was being required to go to church one Sunday during basic training.
I have a "horror" story of religion from my time in the Navy. I had put down no preference for religion. In retrospect maybe I should have chosen atheist, but I was young. Or been a Bud, like a friend - looked cool on his dog tags.
Anyway, I was having difficulties with my then fiancee and just wanted things to end. I was on deployment and overseas sailing. Somehow, she got my parents to call the USO and blah, blah. Next thing I know, I get told to report to a priest, a fucking duck-headed commander who refused to listen to me and my rights. He ordered, yes ordered, me to write a letter to my parents explaining I was ok and that I would stay in contact blah blah, even though I told him I had just sent them a telegram from Hong Kong. I was a 22 year old adult. The priest was a total dick.
Atheist was not an option when I served, only No Pref or some sect
@Davesnothere I think that was the same with me 76 to 81
@Beowulfsfriend Served right after you, 83-91
I would need to leave the military if I had to be part of "the god squad", that is vile.
The army recognizes Wicca now - don't see any videos of them.
Yeah looks like we're going back into a dark age fast and furious
