With all my worries of getting sick, this evening I have the beginning of chest congestion. No fever, in fact my thermometer does not register above 98 degrees. I think it is too early to say it is Covid, but it is something to obsess about when I'm trying to sleep. And yes, I gave up trying to sleep and I'm Googling symptoms.

An early symptom of covid19 is inability to smell; if you can smell garlic, you probably don't have it. Green tea is an anti viral. Women are less likely to get covid 19 than men, and typically don't get as sick. You are probably OK.

I did smell the garlic that I chopped up for my omelette this morning. Thank goodness.

I've had a series of short-duration fevers over the last 2 weeks. No other applicable symptoms. It's random. I find myself feeling feverish and sit down and take my temperature. It has been anywhere from 99.4 to 99.8. Then, after an hour or 2, my temperature returns to 98.6.

Don't know what it means, just passing it along.

Dehydration

AHHHH! I am sooooooooooooo there!!. I started with an eye irritation from getting soap in my eye in the shower yesterday. It's the eye that suffered a shingles out break in 2018. So I keep smelling things to make sure I can smell. I never was a good candidate for med school. My mom was an x-ray tech and one day I thought I'd read her book on all the conditions and illnesses that could befall a human. BAD move!!! LOL
I did use an antibiotic ointment on the eye and was able to sleep. So I'll see (🙂 ) how the eye does today.

I have discovered that the hand sanitizer/disinfectants cause a general feeling of malaise for up to 24 hours after I go to the store for food. It was the increased level of use of those products I suspect that has made me so sensitive to them. So while I loathed shopping to start with it is now a fucking nightmare. I use rubber gloves now so my skin does not have direct contact with those chemicals.

Try and relax. OH!! I read an article a few weeks back that questions a temp of 98.6 as normal. The article postulates that almost all the tracking of humans temperature is done when they show up at a doctors office - meaning they are ill!!
As I mentioned my mom was an x-ray tech and she was always taking our temps. I have normal temp of 97.3 to 97.6, always have!!! When I have a temp of 98.9 I have a low grade fever. I still have a hard time getting that thru to my health care providers. 😟
Have I distracted you yet? LOL
Be safe and do try to quiet the mind - HUGS from afar.

Thank you!! Good to know about the temperature, that I'm normal. I did some cleaning yesterday and must have kicked up some crap. Literally, I was cleaning the laundry room floor which is where the litter boxes are. I think I may have been reacting to the dust I likely inhaled. Oy, I will know better than to do that again.

@HippieChick58 I would wear a mask. I have COPD, so I can get trigered easier than I use to. I would love to get another cat but since I am in an apartment I just don't think I can handle a litter box. 😟

So, how are you today?(I think it is Sunday?)

My chest congestion seems to be gone, and my nose is either runny or stuffed, which has been the usual this winter. Still no fever. I did some deep cleaning yesterday. and I'm wondering if the dust I moved might have triggered it. See if I deep clean again.

@HippieChick58 That's great news! Cleaning always does that to me, too, so I think we should banish it for the duration. 😉 Seriously, I believe fever is key, so I hope this has relieved some of your stress.

Take care of yourself.

Hope you’re feeling better today...keep us updated. Probably not got the virus without raised temp.

How is your sense of smell and taste? Have they changed recently?

Some of the symptoms might not appear until later in the illness. I'm not sure if I had this coronavirus or not, but my symptoms were all over the place, with the diminished sense of taste a week or more into it. Probably different for everyone. Hopefully more data will be collected by various surveys to get a clearer picture of the typical order of symptoms.

@Julie808 Right. I was reading this morning that these two symptoms were predominant in most cases. I can't remember if the article said they were pre-cursors or advanced symptoms. I want to say they were pre-cursors. Suggested self quarantine for 7 days if they presented themselves.

My sense of smell is limited at the best of times and allergies have knocked them out numerous times. Right now it is no better or worse than average. Sense of taste seems to be OK. I can taste the eggs I'm having for breakfast. I did a pretty good job on the eggs this morning 😉 Thanks for your input!

Don't worry about something you can't help, unless you start having a fever. It could just be allergies or something.

If you've been practicing social distancing and washing your hands, your chances of contracting covid-19 are drastically reduced. Worry/stress might lower your immune system, so don't worry about it just yet, hope for the best and get some rest.

Oh, let's hope not, but it is a worry.

Breath Gf..breath..

If you worked outside, or did deep cleaning you may have inhaled a bunch of irritants. If no fever, relax!

It was a rainy day in Omaha, so I didn't do much outside. No deep cleaning. I did laundry. When I do clean I use homemade cleansers, I avoid the chemicals.

Stop smoking dat stuff......really, they are saying a fever and sweating are first, but that isn't a fact.
