The Corona Virus is a good indicator of two things: (1) Life does not proceed in a linear fashion, and (2) we live in bounded chaos. The two are interrelated.

No matter how well be plan, scientifically analyze, base our actions on data, unexpected events always arise which throw all of that into disorder. The world, and the universe in which it exists, are so complex, yet so interrelated that is it almost impossible to predict the effects of some action or event far distant from us in time and space.

Chaos Theory, again

The world is based on random fluctuations, from the exceedingly tiny to the macroscopic.

like feynman's checker board? the rules are simple, but there are too many moves.

Like General Eisenhower said - "You can make the best plans, but when the bullets start flying, all the best plans go out the window." - or something like that?

We humans seem to think we are the peak of evolutionary processes but the bad news is, we are definitely NOT.
Even those tiny, almost invisible, micro-organisms such as viruses are continuing to evolve and mutate.
With our collective arrogance, apathy, ignorance and unbridled greed we have plowed the fields and sown the seeds of the Whirlwinds of not only our own destruction but, more than likely, the destruction of 90% of life on this planet.

"Boy! I say, boy, it's called Hubris!"

@BirdMan1 It most certainly is 'Hubris.'
