I have installed about six browsers (Kubuntu Linux OS), all are cross-platform (available on most hardware). I use three regularly -- Tor, Opera, and Firefox. I use Opera for the built-in VPN, Tor (and Opera) for 'privacy'. I like Firefox for the extensions (plenty of them for Opera also).

@FearlessFly I am SO glad I have Android, i remember those "good old days". Not enough money in the world to drag me back to Windows!!!!!

@AnneWimsey . . . perhaps you know . . . Android is 'built' on top of the Linux kernel. There is no privacy, however, with a smartphone, so I choose not to have one.

@FearlessFly yes, but no BS, in over 7 years with Android, I have NEVER been interrupted by "updates or anything else, never. It does its' business while I do mine.
I have a $30 burner smartphone, nothing on there my mother couldn't see.....

@AnneWimsey . . . first the 'fallacy' -- "nothing to hide" is based on the fallacious premise -- if there are things one doesn't want widely known, you MUST be doing something wrong !

For most/all (Android) smartphones, NO updates are available. Google doesn't mandate them, and the manufacturers/telcoms want you to update your phone(s) sooner-rather-than-later (often, no updates is a security risk).

@FearlessFly fresh updates every day, both the tablet & the phone. Same tablet 5 years now.

@FearlessFly both/everything...I started way back with Android "marshmallow" (?? or earlier,) now it's 5-6 versions farther along, "9" I think

@AnneWimsey marshmallow was 6.0, latest is 11.0 (2/20/2020).
Are these Google devices (i.e. Chrome tablet) ?
