You have to admire the majesty of animals and insects, trouble free, not constantly pining for technology, not walking around when their heads stuck in a phone. The world on the outside can and usually is beautiful.

For some reason, the image of spiders kicking it back in their webs, perusing their phones amuses me...

Almost as much as ants loitering, looking at theirs, rather than the more typical marching forward in a well organized line. 😉

I see a spider, and i see a teenager walking down the street, not paying attention to the world around them while eyes glued to their smart phones, i grew up in the age where technology was limited, and if my technology now were to be taken away, i believe i'd manage 🙂 Ants also forage for food, the same way children do these days lol head down, single file, phone in face.

Not a worry in the world, except starvation or becoming something else's next meal.

You do know the gruesome way most spiders eat, right?

Often after sex. No wine, coffee or ciggs you see.

@Fernapple puts "getting head" into a whole different light.

Where i'm from, a spiders natural predator are birds and other spiders, humans as far as i can tell, have similar although we have to watch for other predators carrying guns, knives and other instruments, hell nature can take us out in a moment if we're careless too. A huge selection of insects can kill us, actually i could probably go in to way more detail, with way more people problems.. Humans even have the added bonus of world leaders creating war for us, technology is creating brain dead kids, and those reliant on technology, are now slaves to it. OOoooh i don't know. When a spider is left alone, especially this spider, and where it is, doesn't have the issue of that since it's on my property. Shrug, the natural order, is the natural order, spiders aren't pandas, everything and every one has an enemy.

Many moons ago, I was skiing in Aspen, ended one evening (in the words of John Prine) "with an illegal smile". Next morning I was wandering the streets (huge hangover prevented skiing), I happened by a drug store window display which was completely empty, except for the handful of dead insects at the bottom. I'll never forget the accompanying sign in the window -- "Welcome visiting entomologists, here for your perusal is Aspens' finest bug collection" 😮 😛

I just remembered, I have the pic. It was (198x ? ) Vail :

I can assure you, this one is safe, doesn't bite, and isn't venomous lol actually isn't rare enough to be added to a collection 🙂 This little weaver of webs, is quite safe, until nature decides to take it out while my back is turned. There are some people that also collect butterflies, heads of certain animals, and even tribes that eat people and collect their bones, i never will quite understand the need for trophies with humans, i take pictures as a trophy, it's less gruesome lol

@Dyslogix There is WAY more to the story of that previous night 😮 but "gruesome" is a good way to describe how I was feeling that morning -- laughing so hard helped (and I am chuckling every time I read my own comment).
