Reminds me of how nervous the Black Panthers in the 60s used to make the racists and conservatives nervous with how well they knew the gun laws and proudly carried weapons while openly declaring war on the police and racist pols back then. Ah, good times....
Not to excuse racism, but openly carrying firearms is widely legal in the US (irrespective of what you or I might want).

When black Americans carry guns they know it just makes them a target.

I don't know, but I imagine black Americans carry guns (on a per-capita basis) as much as others. 
@Lorajay When black Americans openly carry guns, the cops look at it totally different than when white Americans openly carry. It was that way in the 60s with the Panthers and it still is today.
@TomMcGiverin I think it is fair to say there are plenty of Americans of all types who carry concealed weapons legally and illegally.
I think most of them do and don't care if others see them as racist and discriminatory. They feel most black and brown people deserve it.
