A friend has just invited me to watch the following videos & download 3 . Pdf books for free(?). The books downloaded okay & have not yet wiped out my files or set off any virus alarms.

[gutsolutionseries.com]

The preceding blurb was:

"Did you know that more than half of your body isn’t human?

Researchers recently found that the microbiome makes up 57% of your body’s total cell count.

These are the bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites that fill every nook and cranny of our bodies.

And most of these tiny colonists live in our gut.

How essential are these microorganisms to your health? Find out in this series.

Your gut bacteria play a significant role in keeping you healthy.

In fact, studies in recent decades revealed that a disrupted microbiome can lead to chronic diseases like Alzheimer’s, autoimmune disease, cancer, obesity, diabetes, anxiety and many more.

And in 2019 alone, we found out that:

People with depression have lower levels of gut microbes called Coprococcus and Dialister
Gut microbes can be the culprit behind unwanted weight gain
Gut microbes may help those with food allergies & skin issues
People with dementia have lower levels of gut bacteria called Bacteroides (enterotype I) and higher levels of bacteria called enterotype III
There is a significant relationship between gut bacteria and schizophrenia
That’s why today, I want to share with you an upcoming free docuseries called The Gut Solution.

This 8-part series features over 40 world-leading gut health experts, who will teach you exactly how to regain full health by harnessing the power of your gut.

Once you register, you’ll learn:

The natural remedy that heals IBS and brings immediate relief to the gut (this remedy also dissolves cancerous tumors, protects the brain from aging, and restores youthfulness to an aging complexion)
The vitamin that helped one patient go from a childhood diagnosis of autism to applying for PhD programs at Harvard 15 years later
The unsuspecting cause of mental health disorders, the precise steps you can take to get well, and how a man with crippling bipolar disease got off all of his medications and got his life back
Why some people recover from chronic conditions while others just get sicker and sicker—plus how to overcome your genetic predisposition to obesity, depression, and disease
And many more!" end quote

oh gawd. sometimes ignorance is more than just bliss

"more than half of your body isn’t human"

I think that actually depends on whether you have defecated recently. 😮

Seemingly not.

@FrayedBear "“The numbers are similar enough that each defecation event may flip the ratio to favour human cells over bacteria,” they delicately conclude in a manuscript posted to the preprint server bioRxiv."

Oh, hell no. Unless you're into throwing your money away on miracle cures whose only miracle activity lies in the growth of the seller's wallet. Just say no. 😉

That is what I suspect.

@FrayedBear smart man. 😉

@jlynn37 has come up below with an interesting scientific article from Harvard.

@FrayedBear yes, it's much more scientific. There is a lot of emerging research showing the importance of maintaining a healthy gut and we're understanding a lot more about the role of microbes with in the digestive system. Americans have terrible diets (obvious generalization) and the increase in colon cancers has generated a lot of research interest.

Some experts believe that the Gut Microbiome is our body's second brain.

Your link is going to provide much more legit info than the one he received. It smells pretty scammy to me.

A fascinating article. When they start refining out the unwanted crap the pills will probably be more potent and palatable.

I was always fascinated by mother gorillas eating their baby's faeces in order to develop antibodies that would flow into the breast milk to help protect the baby gorilla.

@FrayedBear I had not heard of the use in diabetes, though seems to still be in the early stages of understanding. I used to work with a colorectal surgeon and we used fecal transplants for certain situations and they were rather effective, Gross to think about, but effective at balancing an out of whack gut biome.

@Amzungu how was that done - a tube down the throat & through the stomach or up the anal canal followed by injection of material?

@Amzungu don't laugh just explain!

@FrayedBear that's exactly how everyone imagines it, but no, not that dramatic. Just like the article. It's taken orally as a pill, which to me is even more gross when you think about it. It simply coming from one person and being given to another makes it termed a transplant.

@Amzungu A lot less intrusive for you as a nurse. Also indicative of very small quantity. See my comment about baby gorilla faeces eaten by mother.
