Imagined being(s) who are "believed" into "existence" and looked to for some form of guidance, protection, enlightenment and, most importantly, immortality. Gods are everything we wish we were: dependent on nothing, never uncertain, never impotent, never dying.

2

A imaginary higher power people are trained to pray to.

It's the word my wife yells when we are making love......lol.

2

A supernatural being who is malevolent.

A supernatural being.not a part of the natural universe known now or at any time in the future. Like Marvel comic characters this unnatural creature is imbued with supernatural powers to shape matter create and destroy matter and knows everything. Knows the past present and future. In addition this creature hears the thoughts of all humanity. It’s a creepy creature. It could intervene in the physical universe and can help football teams in America win games. Apparently not so keen on eradicating disease and suffering. So obviously a made up creature as to be ludicrous

Gods were invented by early humans (possibly neanderthals) to explain the unexplainable. Then maniplulated by the few to keep the masses in check.

1

An imaginary being whose superpowers make believers feel secure and favored.

I like the way Neil Gaiman approached the concept... a God is anything that receives adoration, attention, and worship. Therefore, as in his book American Gods, there are gods of technology, media, sex...

1

Its what people invented to explain why good things happen to bad people, why bad things happen to good people, why perfectly healthy humans die young, why fire rains from the sky, why crops fail etc etc...we know why now...god is redundant

Nothing

Nonesense, a placeholder for a person who has no other ideas and fears the dreaded "I don't know"

Being

In religious terms it's a word used to cover up or fill in a lack of knowledge.

In music it's a term used for adoration

It's also the first three letters fo my surname 🙂

1

An excuse for not thinking for yourself.

1

For me it’s a personification of the entirety of reality.

I like that

1

I'm my own god. I'm in charge of what I do right and wrong. I'm the one pulling the strings.

1

Right now, it's a lazy explaination for all the stuff not genuinely understood.

God is simply the term early man used to try and explain his existence, and the natural events happening around him. God created me. God causes thunder and lightning. Kind of answer for everything.
To me God is the Universe

The Sumerian god, "Anu" is likely the inspiration for the Hebrew god of the Bible, but for my own belief, I see what others call "god" as my Higher Self, Source energy, etc.
