For all my health conscious folks do you prefer to juice or blend your fruits and vegetables? Why do you prefer one over the other?

I was a farm kid, so I prefer my fruits and veggies as they came out of the ground or off the tree. However, if I have nothing else planned and have time to sit on the toilet all day, I will go for a fruit or veggie smoothie.

As soon as you process any raw food you increase the rate of its decomposition, so you should use it right away. Better not to juice because you lose important fiber. Blending is not necessary and we have teeth and a disgestive system specifcally designed to function best by chewing foods slowly to prepare them for the chemical factory in the stomach. No harm for having some juiced or blended foood in moderation for convenience or taking for a later snack in your workday of course.

Nah, I just eat whole fruits, with watermelon and blueberries being my favorites.

Although I do enjoy a V-8 occasionally, and mix Clamato with beer.

Juice is just too much sugar. Eat the whole fruit or vegetable for the fiber and nutrients. Juicing expels all of that. Blend if you must (smoothies can be truly awesome!) but raw or lightly steamed is healthier.

TRUE...I am a diabetic and my glucose levels were over the top when Juicing. My son has Juiced for over 5 years and he said he feels great, never gets a cold or flu, and has loads of energy.

Juicing concentrates the sugars in fruit. That is unhealthy for anyone with diabetic tendencies.

Juicing is bad, imho, too much sugar. You want all the fibers and cellulose. But nobody should be drinking lots of fruit juice.

I tried juicing for a short time, but, then found what gets lost is the fiber which cleans the colon. Also, I think I recall that fewer nutrients are absorbed because of shorter transit time(?).

Blending. I don't believe in wasting food. By juicing you are throwing away all the fiber.

Don't have a jucier, so it's easy. I think you get more fiber from blending though.

If I have choose either blended or juiced give me blended any day! 🙂

They get eaten anyway I feel willing to prepare them. Normally the easiest way. I do peel banana's!

Juice is pretty much just sugar and water. Not much value there. I eat most fruit and veg raw.

I have to control my carb count. It is way too difficult to do that by drinking juice.
