Just a wee thought/point of or for discussion here IF anyone feels like reading/discussing it.
Actual Lineal Heritage was in older times, i.e. B.C.E. and C.E. as well, calculated ONLY by using the Paternal relationship side of the familial line/heritage, etc, etc, was it not?
Therefore, as the bible states, the Lineage of Jesus can be traced back directly to King David and the House of King David and, according to bible, even further back beyond.
Now here comes the problem AND the big crunch.
Jesus is PROCLAIMED to be NOT the biological son of Joseph BUT the son of God.
Ergo, genetically and Lineal Heritage wise, since this Yeshua bin Yuself ( Jesus son of Joseph) shares absolutely NO genetic/chromosomal link with Yusef/Joseph what-so-ever, and IS technically, logically and legally a Bastard Child CONCEIVED completely out of Wedlock then there CANNOT be, by ANY stretch of the imagination, ANY traceable Familial/Genetic Linkage/Heritage between the said 'Jesus' and the House of King David can there?
I'd be very interested to the comments, etc of others regarding this even though we know full well that the entire story is little more than a conjured up fairy story at its very best.

Your thinking here is absolutely true. Suppose for a moment that there was a real Jesus of biblical times. His lineage is given for a reason although one gospel distorts it somewhat. They were looking for an Earthly King and not a heavenly one. When Mary is said to be impregnated by the "holy spirit of god" this is a way of saying that Joseph was that person and explains the controversy. It happens in our modern world all the time and people marry later. In the bible it explains why the lineal heritage was given. Books of the bible NT being written long after the fact, the myths (and changes) started to set in and you see what we have today in churchworld.

  1. The Bible contradicts science and even contradicts itself! (There’s 2 creation stories).

  2. Caucasians, Native American, Asian, Africans...... None of these races were in the Middle East before modern times!

Most Americans can NOT in any conceivable way be “Sons Of Abraham “. !!!!!!!

The Bible is NOT OUR BOOK!

LOL Damn right about that!!

Of course it is NOT yours, mine or ANY Atheists book, most Atheists reject it completely as do I and have done since around the age 8-9 years.

Another little interesting fact is that in early Middle East civilization, it was not uncommon for them to measure time by the number of MOONS, rather than by the year, so someone who is said to have lived 900 "years" in this case only lived to 75. But I think that the authors were smoking some serious shit or eating mushrooms, because they mixed both systems of counting.

Yes well given that the Lunar cycle is approx. 29 days, give or take a few decimal points then each year, according to them would be approx.354 days in length meaning for every 3 years that passed they would they would end up being approx. 11.25 days behind actual time and then needing to try and add in another/explain an extra .25 for every fourth year OR they simply ignored the whole thing.
Historically, the Ancient Egyptian calendar was far more accurate since it had 365 days per year, made up from 12 months with 30 days, divided into 3 weeks per month with 10 days per week and 5 Inauspicious days spread out across each year, they also calculated in the extra .25 of a day difference that occurred in each of the 3 years adding in an extra day each fourth year thus giving them 6 Inauspicious days each Leap Year as we now call it.
When Caesar, Gaius of the Julii, named Caesar to give him his correct name btw, returned to Rome from Egypt after 'settling' the dispute between Cleopatra and her brother Ptolemy, he revised the Roman Calendar system from being Lunar based to Solar based.

@Diagoras Jezz Louise, the expected Life span in those times was between the 35-45 years at a maximum, anyone who lived over those ages, e.g. Ramses the Great, was considered as being either very fortunate or very very ancient indeed.

Very interesting, I think you have found one more contradiction in a huge pool of contradictions in the 2000 year old book of bull shit.

Well, perhaps we add that to the 3,896 contradictions that I've already Found over the last 7+ years.

As pointed out below, there are two different lineages described in two different books, with differing numbers of generations. This is a minor detail compared to the main point that the "lineage" from David was conjured up to fulfill messianic prophecies from the Torah in the first place. The NT was explicitly written to tie in the books of the OT, which is why so many Bibles have footnotes pointing out precisely which verses are being referenced.

For example, in John 12, Jesus is said to ride into Jerusalem on an ass specifically because it's a prophecy from the Torah. "And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt. These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him. (John 12:14-16) This is a paraphrase of Zechariah 9:9, "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."

Another way to sum up all these "prophecies" is, "Jesus did it because it was written, and because it was written, he did it."

Logic and religion? 🤣🤣

Sounds great!!!

How about some chocolate fudge cake with some Jack Daniels!! LOL

Yep, mixing those two together is like trying to mix oil and water together.

Actually, it's TWO conjured-up fairy stories, as the books of both Matthew and Luke trace the lineage from David to Jesus, but while Luke details 43 generations, Matthew only details 28, with very little commonality among the names listed. Pick your poison, I guess.

And ALL of it IS nothing less than 110% pure unadulterated Bullshit.
