WOW!! I did not know this. If you are 35, you cannot be president.
I mentioned on this site before that those over 70 should be forced to retire from politics (No more Trump, Biden, Pelosi, Mitchell and half of congress) and there was a lot of opposition, mainly discrimination. Valid argument still?
Millennial's should be spewing about this one, I don't understand why this has never been an issue. Forget about disenfranchising people of colour, latino's, LGB (alphabet soup)T and all the rest.
Every American under 35 is unable to run for the presidency and that really sucks and is a long way from being an inclusive democracy.
[loc.gov]
Great leaders do their greatness in their youth.
Americans can change this with an amendment...
Meanwhile it does suck that there is apparently no test for eligibility and yet age is a test. If we agree being too young is a limitation then why not being too old?
More to the point I think we should have at most 10-year term limits on all positions including SCOTUS.
To be eligible, you have to be a natural born American citizen and be age 35 before election day. Why did someone react to your post with anger? It's in the Bill of Rights. Doesn't experience count for anything? There are younger leaders like Kim Jung Un. Is he more to your liking?
I reacted with anger because this member repeatedly tries to stir the pot by creating new issues at a time when the US is already struggling with many live issues. I wonder what he thinks is in it for him to do so.
@LovinLarge A lot of Australians are Anti-American. I don't think he is tho. I thought you were mad the presidents have to be 35.
@barjoe Thanks for the opportunity to clarify.
@LovinLarge my apologies to you although I didn't know who's angry emoji it was lol
@barjoe Not at all dear, thank you.
