Do you consider your morning cup of joe, an addiction or a habit? What is the difference between the two?

I absoutely love coffee!
Good coffee.
I drink it morning, Noon & night.
I know there's the caffine addiction but my tolerances are so friggin high to it that it doesn't keep me awake at night.

Mmmmmm..........coffee.

When I start thinking of coffee as an addiction I stop for a few days. The caffeine withdrawal headaches confim it. I've cut back and mostly drink tea now (less caffeine), with an occassional coffee when on the road. I brought oodles of bulk teas back from a trip to Sri Lanka tea plantations, so have lots of choices. I don't like addictions. I like choices.

Both, I try and stop for 2 weeks a year. I does help me keep the amount down.

Mine is a morning cup of tea and it is a psychological addiction. If I miss out on it (rarely) I feel that I am out of step for the rest of the day.

Need and want

And you, my darling Darwin?

Not tea which I got hooked on while living in England.

I don't think of it.

Some mornings I have tea, sometimes coffee and occasionally juice or water.

It often depends on what I have for breakfast.

For ME, I guess it is an addiction, but also part of my morning ritual. When I was a kid and stayed with my grandmother on the weekends or over the summer, she always had coffee when she woke up. Of course, since she was awake, I wanted to be awake too. So off to the kitchen we went. She would water mine down and add a ton of milk, but I enjoyed those early mornings spent with her. I have a lot of fond memories sitting at her kitchen table just talking and drinking coffee.

I consider caffeine to be an addiction. If I miss a cup, the physical affects are not pleasant. Although I can't recall the last time I did go a day without coffee.

And, I'd steal my mother's TV to get a cup of coffee in the morning.

It's neither an addiction or a habit ...,it's lifesaving !

I consider it a reward for getting out of bed

I don't drink coffee in the mornings. I drink it on my days off or after work at 2 pm. It is more of a treat to me, rather than I have to drink it to wake up. Since I lowered my dose of Trazadone at night, I am able to wake up in the mornings without having to use a lot of caffeine.

I get sick if I don’t have it so it’s an addiction, physical dependency makes it so. If it was just a habit I would miss it but stopping would make me sad not sick.

I don't know. I will accept either one. Love my coffee.

I consider it my "wake up" call.

Just a habit.

If I miss out on coffee, as I sometimes do, it is no big deal

I don't really care what they call it.. I guess both, but I like it... 😉
How about you ?

Tea for me.

Habit. Like the taste. If I had to do without I'd be fine.
