I just found the first academic job that I am barred from applying for due to my lack of faith in Jesus Christ. Malone University (Canton, OH) requires a statement of faith for all applicants, not simply a statement of your faith or lack thereof (as some Jesuit universities do). I will provide their wording from HigherEdJobs.com so you can share in my displeasure.
Tell me what you think (because I have considered asking the site administration of the hiring website to take down the job posting for imposition of discriminatory hiring practices.

Not going to try if they don't want an agnostic, but I did write the provost to ask for clarification.
I was posting this primarily to see what everyone else thought about this.
Yes, good luck with that and the sad current state of the SCOTUS, any legal antireligions case going there will never pass.

I mean, it's not new to me but I felt like complaining and I wonder if it violates (if not the law) the spirit of the following (also on the job posting):

Here's a follow-up, for anyone who's interested. The provost of the school wrote the following back to me:
Being a member of a non-Christian faith, agnostic, or atheist does not disqualify candidates from consideration. All employees must be willing to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the standards and mission of Malone as expressed in Malone's doctrinal statement, mission statement, and community responsibilities policy.

Is this a public university? Is it one that accepts federal student aid? If so then isn't a barring of someone to a position of employment illegal? I'm not 100% on things like this. But something to be considered I'd believe.
