Does Christmas mean anything to anyone on here?
Means nothing to me, is just a day to spoil my nieces.

I enjoy the family gathering. I just ignore the mythology that goes with it.

I adore Christmas!! To me it’s basically Thanksgiving 2.0 but with LIGHTS and PRESENTS

Yes but not as birth of fiction but a gentler time of year

Christmas stopped meaning anything to me ever since that long ago day that Santa did not bring me a pony. I guess he had no room in the sled.

Silver bells, something smells
And I think it comes from the city
Ding a ling. You ding a ling
Soon it with be Christmas day

The colored lights make me feel better when the sun goes down at 5:00 p.m.

Overly repetitive holiday music .
Crowded stores that I will avoid - especially with our covid guests
A good time for hikes and kayaking , in places that usually have many humans
What little family left are all god nuts, and not nearby , so - there's that
A few phone calls to friends
Sometimes I send some cards
If I'm not mindful, things can get maudlin and melancholy
Usually relieved when the whole season is over.

I call both RELIGIOUS HEAT seasons Nov 1st to Jan 2nd then Valentine's Day to baby geebush dead day oestre

Yes, it means long cues in the shops, people buying stuff that they don't need, far too much food, no parking, and of course I get so see all my family in one place.

If I am with the family, it means a good feast (7 fish). Otherwise, it's a good excuse to day drink and not worry about work.

My kids love it and I love that they love it. I thought about not celebrating it anymore but how could I say no to those eager little faces?

Its a nice excuse to break up the winter doldrums with feasting and the commencement of merrymaking.

We just don't do enough merrymaking anymore.

It's a day to exchange gifts.

I get memories of laying on the couch with the Christmas tree lit, and some old movie on the tv. What's best about that memory is that I'm home alone, feeling safe and warm and conscious of the cold outside.

The meaning certainly is Not Alleged Vaginal virgins birthing ALLEGED baby gawds every xmas midnight 24-25 every December on a fake backdated calendar invented 6 centuries late and 4 years AFTER real King Herod died MAKING the Vatican rapist priests incompetent frauds

Just like any Sunday which is family gather day. No more than that.........except to exchange gifts.

If you have nieces to spoil, then you are very fortunate, and Christmas must mean a lot to you. Because having nieces to spoil is a lot.

It no longer holds a purpose for me.

Yes, it means I have to watch out for social interactions with religious family members.

A time to avoid friends & acquaintances, because they have expectations that I ... should be joyful at this time of year, ... should want to spend money (that I've saved by being frugal and denying myself pleasures) on buying a useless gift for someone, to supposedly show that I care about them, ... should want to visit them to watch them eat food that I can't (I'm ethical vego, with other health determined dietary restrictions), ... should want to mingle with strangers (with all their viruses) and have inane conversations, ... should want to watch those around me getting enebriated & physically clumsy (invariably causing annoyance & hurt to me, spilling, bumping, leaning, grabbing, squeezing hugs) with insensitive word choices and contentious topics, that lead to snarky retorts, and even to aggressive verbal & physical interactions. Add christmas music to that, and I'm the one wanting to lash-out; defensively.

Christmas per se means nothing, but the family related gatherings are always nice, and welcome.

this year it means even less.

In my case it means a 4 day weekend to drink and play with my Playstation lol

No religion...no small children...no meaning...
