Anyone else renewed a passport in the age of Covid?

Wondering if I am going to have to physically do this or if I can upload a regulation photo and do everything remotely.

Mine expires in May

My passport expires next year, but as I recall the only thing I had to do in person in 2012 to get it originally was the photo, which I got at Costco, pretty social distanced even back then, except I suppose now there's a mask until the click of the camera.

Seems like a good time to renew a passport early for any within a year of expiration, since it's unlikely many of us will be traveling for several months yet this year.

Let us know how it goes, since now my curiosity is piqued.

No plans of going anywhere. Only have used it to get back from Canada and Mexico.
Was sort of disappointed to not get stamps for that.

After this year I might make using it a priority.

Here is the link for the Department of State (they issue passports to US citizens):

Renewed mine in September. Had picture taken at Walgreens. Took longer to get it than last time. About 10 weeks.

Would be interesting to learn how it turns out , for you . Don't recall when mine expires , but not sure I can do further traveling , now , anyhow .

I was about to send in a passport application, then Covid happened. According to the instructions, you can either mail in the application with a photo, or you can turn it in to the local passport office. Some U.S. Post Offices have hours in which they accept passport applications (usually the main branch).

Anyway, I myself put off getting the passport renewed. Now it seems that most countries wont' take American tourists anyway.

I renewed mine almost two years ago, but haven't been able to use it for the last year because of Covid. Last time I used it was in Aug. 2019.

I need to renew mine also but the Post Office used to do all this. If they no longer do it I'm sure they can fill us in on the details. Used to, they took your pictures and you filled out a form that they mailed off.
