If Trump has already been impeached by the House, how should the precedent be applied to all future Pres. and lawmakers in an equitable way? In other words, what is the ultimate lesson learned IN FACTS, not opinion, from the outcome of the decision? I take it that certain phrasing of speech proceeding or during times of heightened tension/national violence are grounds for future impeachment of Pres. or removal from office for any current members of Congress. But WHAT is the phrasing of speech that is problematic? What are the exact words or their associated ideas that are the set precedent of impeachable if uttered? How will we know when the words or ideas are uttered?

I am reading through Trump's speech and will create my own ideas and post once I have them.

Trump's quotes that could have been taken as incitement were:

"And now we’re out here fighting. "

"And again most people would stand there 9 o’clock in the evening and say ‘I want thank you all very much and they go off to some other life,’ but I said something’s wrong here, something’s really wrong, can’t have it happen, and we fight. We fight like hell, and if you don’t fight like hell you’re not gonna have a country anymore, our exciting adventures and boldest endeavors have not yet begun. My fellow Americans, for our movement for our children for our children, for our beloved country, and I say this despite all that’s happened, the best is yet to come.

So we’re going to, we are going to, walk down Pennsylvania Avenue, I love Pennsylvania Avenue, And we’re going to the Capitol, we’re going to try and give the Democrats are hopeless… they never voted for anything, not even one vote, but we’re going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones, because the strong ones don’t need our help, we’re going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country."

To answer this let's wait until future presidents create a cult of personality and attempt sedition and insurrection appear. There is nothing about Donald Trump that can be applied in any normal way to a future POTUS. This is my opinion and it also appears to be fact. What ultimate lesson do you think should be learned?

Seditious conspiracy happened all over the nation in 2020. Where were you? It's my understanding it's STILL occuring in places.

My OPINION (anyway) is that cults of personality can cause a political party to be more loyal to an axis of foreign mafia and media, fascist corporations and theocratic organizations than to the country, and will betray democracy to retain power.

"axis of foreign mafia and media" Who do you define as being included in the axis? And in what ways, "betray democracy"?

@Flowerwall The axis includes Russian mafia, Murdoch, Fox, televangelists, Koch Bros, Facebook, Twitter, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Schwab, Heritage Foundation, NRA, others that supported Putin's stooges. 'Betray democracy' includes voter intimidation, dropbox elimination, Post Office manipulation, gerrymandering, voter roll purging, and other voter suppression tactics, supporting lawsuits to overturn the election that were baseless and/or had no standing, supporting propaganda campaigns pushing hate-mongering, lies and slogans (Stop the Steal, voter fraud, dead people voting, voting machine problems, poll worker problems), etc. Also in the axis are now those who supported the violent coup attempt, and still do, and eschew accountability for those who incited or aided the coup, and those who still believe Trump is fit for public office. Those who support the lies, the election interference or the coup attempts support fascism.

@racocn8 Okay.

So it looks like any idea that uses the term "fight" or expressing a call to aggression not fully explained in exact terms. Also inviting to be present at a location where discord is about to take place or is taking place - "we're going to the Capitol" are impeachable/remove from office. And even if the same ideas a have been expressed and clearly said "go peacefully"? This part is harder for me to understand, but I guess it's just irrelevant, the peaceful part? It's actually not a very good precedent. Even if Trump was indeed the worst President on record, we now have this in our history and it can be used in the future.

So what other officials/lawmakers have expressed similar ideas, if any? I think a large number of elected officials are due for removal with these standards.

@Flowerwall I keep YouTube going every waking minute mostly for all the latest news, political podcasts. At one time there was a lot of science and history but the naked fascism that’s been going on in America is overwhelming. I’ve heard all of Trumps speeches, and Tucker Carlsons opinions, it is disappointing how we can live in a world where an administration required putting children in cages and there’s still people like you saying “Wait a second, what exactly did he do wrong?” Yes I know your question is specific to how he incited the riot, like a dumbass asking how relativistic time dilation works, as if a Mobster that would sell us all out to the highest bidder is so sly and sneaky that it’s all an alien concept. He also said he was going to go with them. “We were sent by the president” is all over the videos from when they took the Capital by siege.
I’m looking at you with the Tucker Carlson expression and thinking, there’s a reason telling jokes sucks when you have to explain them.

@Willow_Wisp I agree with "naked fascism", but how do you think the impeachment standard should be applied to any elected officials currently in office to have a fair application of precedent?

Also, I don't have a clue on this "how relativistic time dilation works" but it would be nice to stick to the topic here that was posted. I do understand Trump evokes extremely negative feelings in some. Quite obvious in the House, but imagine running a government sheerly on the feelings and political whims of the elected. It would lead to sheer chaos! Rules must be applied evenly! So please answer my question. And if it applies to Rs then state it. I will update list as I find comments.

@Flowerwall The same, honestly do you think I’d approve this behavior from Democrats? Feelings have nothing to do with it! The facts prove the injustice at hand. Only those with a desire, a feeling as you attempted to attribute to me, that the situation is murky and full of grey areas when justice clearly keeps it all very black and white.
Explain to me then exactly what Charles Manson did wrong. We don’t have recordings of the things he said before trial, so it’s all second hand information, primarily from drug addled cult teenagers.
Yes there’s less evidence against Manson then against Trump.
Until that truth is accepted the culture will continue to burn.
It’s not hard, it’s all on video.

@Willow_Wisp Well now any elected official who has said any words that could be construed as a call for aggression unspecified or for people to be in a place where crime has happened, an attack based toward any arm of government, now needs to be removed from office. Not very many have been removed from Congress in history, but how do we impeach one office (Pres.) and NOT remove from Congress and current executive branch for the SAME thing?

@Flowerwall I agree, investigate (document) all suspected as part of the coup. Ted Cruz comes to mind and Lindsey Graham and their tell is continuing to perpetuate the big lie about voter fraud. A damned unreasonable position after Jan 6th after sabotaging the mail system. Anyone speaking up for and justifying the sedition needs immediately be disempowered. Let them say anything they want, it’s more rope. But we can’t have confederate spies in Congress, and all sympathizers need to find new jobs, at the very least.

@Willow_Wisp What is the coup you are speaking of? So now anyone who ever says the word "voter fraud" should be impeached or removed from office? I would still agree with that, if there can be complete and open access to the ballots and voting machines in all contested states by interested parties who wish to audit. And a significant follow up from law enforcement to investigate validity of identity of certain random samples of mail-in voters and any other subsections that have raised doubt. Another demand I would make is disallowing dominion voting machines to be used in ALL swing states. It's a VERY BAD practice and one that just looks like tactics employed by voting cheats. Better yet, why doesn't voting machine creation, instead of being handled solely by private sector, fall under government domain, so that inspecting code, can never be "off limits" as it's public property. We could gradually eliminate all outside voting machines. This would create more American jobs, boost our manufacturing output, and reinstill faith in the voting process. A win-win-win, I say! We could even resell our dominion machines to a nation who uses, is it Venezuela?, but make sure it has been properly inspected and it has the good code beforehand.
