Interesting times ahead for the GOP.

A businessman wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks the GOP to carry it across. The GOP hesitates, afraid that the businessman might sting, but the businessman argues that if it did that, they would both drown. The GOP considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the businessman. The GOP lets the businessman climb on its back and then begins to swim. Midway across the river, the businessman stings the GOP anyway, dooming them both. The dying GOP asks the businessman why it stung despite knowing the consequence, to which the businessman replies: "I couldn't help it. It's in my nature.

AEGOP’s Fable

I thought I just read some former head of national law enforcement, a lifelong democrat, just became a Rep. I can't find it now, which is highly bothersome, but hopefully I will. My Q to you is, would you consider him to be the stinger or the stung?

@TheMiddleWay

"100% stinger" Okay, why? So, do you know who I am referring to? I can't seem to find it now and it's bothering me. I wanted to read more and see if I could follow his reasoning, it was something I really wanted to follow up on. It's completely lost now. Who was it?

@StarvingArtist I really you hadn't said that. Idon't know what you mean.

@TheMiddleWay I deleted another response I posted because I don't want to debate this. But when you said "No other Republican president in modern history has turned on their party and brought so much negative attention to it the way Trump has done for the GOP" I think it's one way to see it. Other perspectives differ. The Q is - what now. In times like these the future could go any way. The Dems have an ability to get things done now, so let's see what they can do. Repubs need to bring new ideas and learn from old ones. It's also a good time to rethink some basic princibles. We'll see.

@TheMiddleWay, @StarvingArtist I am less annoyed now because it's no longer in the back of my.mind. I found the individual I spoke of originally, but had his formerly held position wrong. He is a former CIA officer. Brian Dean Wright. It was 5 days ago. He wrote his reasoning out, and mainly talks about the violence over the summer. His ideas that were presented make the most sense to me. I know nothing about him outside of this expression of thought, but it makes the most sense. I also saw a video clip of an elderly black woman in Minneapolis talking right around the time of the occurances of the riots and it was heartbreaking. She was crying and expressed a truly depressing idea that I don't want to even repeat becuz of the sense of hopelessness it conveyed. I think this was happening a lot behind what the media was showing the public. I think a lot of ppl just went through a lot of pain.

While trump threatens to siphon off part of the GOP to create his own political party, I watched a Youtube recently in which more moderate Republicans discussed doing the same since the comment was that these center-right Republicans believe the current party may not salvagable.

The gop let the cancer in.
They shouldn't be surprised about it killing them.

'merca is so batshit crazy with evangelicalism and conspiracy theories that I am afraid it will not only kill the gop but the entire country as well.

@jlynn37 I share your fear. The crazy Trumpers will not go away even if Trump does. They will find another opportunistic Repub who will lead them if Trump does go away.

@TomMcGiverin cruz is waiting for his turn in the wings.

@hankster That seems to be what's shaping up.

@hankster I can only hope that NO ONE lets
ANYONE forget what Cruz has said and done.
Nor any of the rest of them that enabled 45, and tried to hide behind lies and semantics.

forgotten!? i doubt it. they are too in love with the lies to forget them.

@hankster I'd like to agree with you, but as we have seen from fairly recent history, there are a lot of people with conveniently short memories.

@KKGator its a selective thing.
