So happy to live in a county with one of the lowest risks of Covid-19.
The New York Times posted this map on Saturday showing the covid risks throughout the USA. If you look really closely at the top island in the State of Hawaii, that is Kauai County, in the green, where I live. Our county imposed tougher travel restrictions than the other island counties in Hawaii, so we are enjoying far more freedom with our daily activities, since there is so little risk. We do however continue to wear masks in public and have to quarantine if we return from travel off island. Not a bad place to be urged to stay put. 
Does anyone else live in one of the green, marked low risk? Are you also enjoying some freedoms that other places can not? Was your mayor or government officials instrumental in keeping your numbers down?

It reminds me of the map of last years election but instead of red it is purple.

Yeah - I'd be curious to see a map that shows covid rates compared to political majority in various areas.
I'm in Australia where, except for the occasional small outbreak we don't have Covid any more. We are virtually ALL green according to your map!

It's because your isolated. I assume the tourist trade has been hurting in Hawaii though.

My county (Kauai) chose to stay isolated, while the other islands have opened up to travelers without quarantine and so their covid case count is higher. Tourism is down on all the islands, but travelers who are concerned about their health and are willing to quarantine in a resort bubble and take a 2nd test after 3 days get to enjoy a covid-free island, by coming to Kauai.
I think the gamble Kauai took to remain isolated was a good one, attracting visitors who stay longer and enjoy doing the same things as locals. It's been nice not having so many short stay visitors who don't care about anyone but themselves. While we are lagging behind in travelers now, I believe the "safe destination" label might work in our favor later. We'll see!
Whether that happens or not, I'm still happy to breathe free in a safe place.
